Atmosphere – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Very open and clean space with plenty of seating. The layout is comfortable, with a casual vibe and a full bar. Clean bathrooms and a relaxed setting make it a great place to hang out or grab a laid-back meal.
Service – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A bit confusing at first—there’s no hostess, and the large open space can leave first-timers unsure of how to order. There is a sign suggesting to grab a menu, but they weren’t easy to spot. Thankfully, an employee noticed we looked new and stepped in to explain the ordering process. He handed us menus, told us to grab a seat, and explained we could order at the counter when ready. That helpful guidance definitely saved the experience and bumped the score up.
Food – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We started with a chicken and cheese quesadilla—no frills, just the basics, with rice on the side. It came with chips and salsa, and the salsa in particular was fresh and flavorful. The quesadilla was large, well-prepared, and filling.
I also had the Camarones Diaz Tacos—served on two grilled corn tortillas with smoked Gouda cheese, sriracha refried beans, light rice, lettuce mix, grilled Spanish onions, pickled jalapeños, marinated grilled chicken, and green goddess sauce. You can choose between chicken, steak, or shrimp. There’s definitely a lot going on in these tacos, but the blend of flavors worked surprisingly well. It’s a bit of a messy dish—definitely a “good messy”—but everything tasted fresh and came together nicely.

Final Verdict: Black Bear Burritos delivers a cool vibe, solid service (especially if you’re new), and fresh, creative food. Some menu items are stacked with ingredients, but they manage to make it all work. Worth a visit if you’re in Morgantown and in the mood for something a...
Read moreI really wanted to give this place 5 stars. The people who took our order and handed over our food were lovely. They really helped us pinpoint what we wanted to order and answered all of our questions. We were obsessed with their tofu chili, it’s super flavorful and we loved the variety of beans. Their pumpkin hummus was pretty tasty. It didn’t taste too different from regular hummus so don’t expect a pumpkin punch in the face, but it was still really flavorful. And my boyfriend ordered their special burrito (something with lots and lots of cinnamon) and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The big issue I ran into happened when I ordered a vegetarian version of one of their wraps. Unfortunately, by the time we got home (several hours away), when I took a few bites of my wrap, I realized that I was eating real deli meat and real bacon. This was pretty upsetting, as someone who hasn’t had meat in decades due to associated gastrointestinal issues.
If I lived close by, I would have tried to get a refund or gone back and requested a replacement wrap with the correct tofu & “facon” as they call their fake bacon. But alas it was far too late because we live in an adjacent state.
TLDR: Black Bear Burritos has a lot of wonderful vegetarian and vegan options, and the food that I could eat was delicious. However, recommend double-checking your food before leaving if you’re taking to-go and before you take a bite to make sure that it’s what you ordered, especially if you have a dietary restriction or allergy.
Update We noticed there was a place to leave a comment in our online receipt and the manager wrote back, providing a full refund for the wrap. We really appreciated the prompt and...

I was really disappointed with today's Blackbear service. I called in around 1:30PM-2:00PM on 04/01 to get food with my usual order, that I've always gotten. The girl who answered the phone was exceptionally rude to me. I asked for to go containers because we figured it's less work for the employees and covid related reasoning. She sighed and made a remark about how it was different but possible. Her tone was incredibly curt and rude.
I asked for an item with something on the side and she was acting as if it was most frustrating thing ever! She first placed me on hold for a few minutes and came back and said, "Well I have a few questions for you." In a very snide tone. All I asked for was a side tortilla? I don't under why she had such a problem with it. She also said, "We've never had such a strange request but I guess we'll just have to get creative." In the most sarcastic way ever. What's creative about a side tortilla? She was so incredibly rude and just downright nasty for absolutely no reason. We just ended up cancelling the order.
Like I said, we frequent BB, and love the food and atmosphere but this experience left a bad taste in our mouths. But yeah, do better Balckbear :/ This is just unfortunate. Still 3 stars because this was one experience out of many where we were...
