I have always believed that good triumphs over negative unpleasantness. Motel 6 was a triumph for what almost became a disaster. I had made a reservation based on information I had received online for a hotel close to motel 6 which turned out to be an atrocity that is in the process of being demolished. I kid you not. Hotel m is in complete disarray yet they continue to rent rooms. Actually they attempted to. When I pulled up I knew right away this was a mistake. Not on my part. But on their part to try to sell me a room. There was one car in the parking lot amongst a large setting featuring several buildings unoccupied. Beyond this tarnished aspect of beautiful Morgantown on the other side of the highway is motel 6. The room I had was fantastic and is the largest hotel room I have ever had within a motel 6 chain as well as most hotel rooms do not feature this ample space. The walls and the curtains are all complimentary of each other featuring several different Earth tones. I would point out that the walls are bare minimum in the sense that there is no artwork. I do not fault the management or the owner Sam who I had the pleasure to meet and is very kind and gracious. I hold accountable however guests of all hotels everywhere as hospitality management in United States most implement procedures to lessen the impact of theft. One thing motel 6 did greatly to make the rooms appealing was to use an assortment of Earth tones. Rather than one flat sterile paint. What really sets us apart more than anything is a service from Kat and Kae. Both helped me with check in and we're fabulous and obviously I showed up without a reservation and within minutes I was in a room after pleasant conversation with both of them. I must make mention of the great service you will get because where else in this day and age are you going to find anybody that works on their birthday hence the beautiful flowers in the lobby for Kat. The room has a microwave and a refrigerator and a great tasteful sense of lighting. I'll let you be in for the surprise of what I thought was nightstand lighting. I had the best comfortable bed and I have nothing but gratitude and appreciation for Sam, Kat and Kai. Ultimately I do not like having to begin this but pointing out the absurdity of what happened across the street but it must be said for I could not live with myself being silent when I have a chance to warn other prospective guests. Without question or hesitation make your reservation and you can count on a sense of confidence and security with this location for your temporary home away from home. Now I got to get back to...
Read moreAs an 18 year old, I didn’t have any other choice but to stay at this place and knowing it’s a motel, I didn’t expect much in the first place but for the decent price that you pay to stay here, it’s like you get thrown into a dumpster. The first thing we noticed walking into our room was the smell of mildew, which is not a good sign to begin with. As we started to look around, the floor looked like it was barely cleaned and we kept noticing small wet spots around the room. That was until we realized that when you would step on the floor tiles, water would come seeping out of the crevices. Not only that, but there are signs of mold around the room. The bathroom tiles look like they haven’t been cleaned in forever and the random brick under the sink pipe along with the lampshade with weird stains showed that they really didn’t care about the way their customers felt in their rooms. We were nice when expressing ourselves to the staff the next day (we were staying for two nights, so we wanted the next night to be better) and they offered to give us a new room when we talked to them on the phone. Later that night, we came back to the hotel to sleep again, went to the front desk like we were told to do so we can receive our new room. They told us there were no more rooms able to be booked out and was told to go back to our mold-infested room (room 137 btw 🤗) without them doing anything to compensate us. We got our dad on the phone with them who was back at home and he said that we were offered a room earlier that day and he expects us to get a room. All of a sudden, they say that’s they have clean and spare rooms available? Isn’t that weird when they said they were completely booked out? So we left the room and went back to the office to get the new room and the way this staff member was treating my boyfriend was very rude and unprofessional. Saying that since we didn’t say anything the night before, this was not allowed at all and was pretty much just accusing us to be liars. The room we were then given was better but the bathroom was still horrendous and disgusting, water puddles on the floor and counter right as we walked in to check the room out. Please look at the pictures of this review and other horrible reviews before you think about stepping in the hell hole they call Motel 6. Ladies and gentlemen, i’m not telling you what to do, but i’m telling you that Motel 6 is a scam and they don’t treat you like a paying customer, or a living human being who wants the decency of...
Read moreThe Most Disgusting, Creepy, and Unsafe Motel I’ve Ever Stayed In – Do Not Book Here!
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. My stay at the Motel 6 in Morgantown, WV was beyond disappointing — it was filthy, unsafe, and downright creepy.
First, the room looked like it hadn’t been properly cleaned or maintained in years. The floors were dirty, and in some spots, water literally seeped up through the floor when stepped on — an absolute health hazard. The bathroom was disgusting, with grime in the shower and even a random brick shoved under the sink for no reason at all.
The AC barely worked, making the room hot and stuffy. There were cracks in the ceiling, exposed and hastily covered electrical boxes, and holes in the walls. The smoke detector was ripped from its mount and pointed directly at the bed, which made my partner terrified it might have been hiding a camera.
The lampshades were stained with what looked like mold or rust, the lamp hardware was corroded, and the entire place had a feeling of neglect and decay. Even the ceiling showed large, visible cracks.
This wasn’t just unpleasant — it felt unsafe. The photos I’ve attached speak for themselves. Management should be ashamed to rent out rooms in this condition. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, not even for one night.
Avoid this Motel 6 at all costs. Pay a little extra and stay somewhere that won’t leave you feeling dirty, uncomfortable, and...
