Started out strong and had high hopes for this place since it came highly recommended from a client. Our waitress was nice enough. Ordered an appetizer, wasnât very good. I wanted a sandwich and subbed their Sriracha potato salad, I love spicy foods. I got the Ruben, the meat was dry and there was virtually no sauerkraut. The potato salad had really no flavor, I could hardly tell there was Sriracha.
My husband ordered a pizza, that was good. Kids got a salad and sandwich as well. It states on the menu sandwiches come with kettle chips, since I subbed the potato salad, I didnât receive the chips, but my son did. A BAG of chips, the kind you can go get at the grocery store. I would at least expect a restaurant charging the prices they do to make them.
Our daughterâs salad wasnât anything special, could have made it at home. Which kind of defeats the purpose of going out to eat.
At some point our waitress asked my husband if heâd like a refill on his drink, he said yes but then watched her return to sitting with the rest of the staff at a table chatting it up. We were the only ones in the restaurant. When she brought her food she had still forgotten his refill and had to go back for it.
$95 after tip. If Iâm going to spend half a weeks worth of groceries on one meal I expect the food & service to be good. Wonât come back which really sucks because itâs becoming incredibly difficult to find good food...
Read moreI noticed the not great reviews for this new Mt State location, but have recently gone twice and have loved it both times. Just as good as the other Morgantown location IMO.
Went yesterday and got the nachos as an app - they were delicious, plenty of toppings the chips were really good too.
Then shared a 'Cuban' pizza - their pizzas are truly some of the best - the pizza came out perfectly cooked and very well prepared. It was absolutely delicious. We ate too much and took home the rest.
Another person ordered the broccoli cheddar soup and I don't think they loved it.
It was pretty empty when we were there, but the service was perfect.
Fwiw I am not a beer person, but this is the only brewery beer that I actually enjoy drinking. They have some lighter / better tasting options for folks like me I guess. The Cold Trail Ale is fantastic if you don't like the really hoppy more bitter beer (no judgement) - and their beer always comes out tasting great and fresh here as well.
I would honestly recommend this place BOTH for the beer and the food - as each of them stand...
Read moreWent to the Star City location today. The waitress was nice and seemed fairly knowledgeable. The problem was the food. They had Mac and cheese on the menu, and I figured it was stuff they made there. But it was box Kraft. So that was pretty disappointing. I ordered the Lost Cow (one of their "signature sandwiches". It describes prime rib, but what I got was ground beef. If you advertise as prime rib, I'm expecting pieces of prime rib. There were more caramelized onions on it than there was beef. The onions were cold. I don't mean like room temperature, I mean they were pulled directly from the refrigerator and put on top of my sandwich. Also the side was "kettle cooked potato chips" and I assumed this meant house made. But no, I got a snack size bag of potato chips. Everything was just more disappointing than I was expecting since I had been to the other location in...
