Edit to original review: I have double checked the Title III of ADA laws which states: “ Title Ill prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in the activities of places of public accommodations (businesses that are generally open to the public and that fall into one of 12 categories listed in the ADA, such as restaurants, movie theaters, schools, day care facilities, recreation facilities…” but it appears as contractors such as delivery drivers are in the gray area of this law so I am amending my review to say that even though it might not indeed be a direct legal violation under ADA laws to forbid delivery drivers to sit down, it still, in my opinion, seems incredibly cruel to make demands that drivers stand in a designated area like their second class citizens. I stand by my other comments that this type of statement by the establishment leaves a poor perception for (now former) patrons like myself who would like to see businesses treat everyone with the same respect and kindness, despite of any nuances in the law. Although I will not be supporting this business moving forward, I can only hope my feedback will allow for further reflection on how to treat others. Lastly, the fact remains, those instructions to the drivers not to sit down because seating is “for customers only” is in very poor taste.
Original review: am not the review kind of guy but this past week I’ve witnessed what broke the camel’s back for me. Their treatment of delivery drivers- atrocious. Full stop. I was waiting for my order (very long wait it was indeed for an ordinary Monday- that’s another issue as the place is perpetually short staffed with the amount of orders they do) and I chatted up a young man who was obviously working for one of the delivery services. He was sweating and looked exhausted and it goes without saying that there’s almost no ventilation inside- it must have felt like 95 degrees while outside was about 85. I asked him why he didn’t take a seat and he responded that he’s not allowed because the establishment forbid it. I almost fell out of my chair hearing this. Then he showed me his phone which said the following “drivers are not allowed to sit down while waiting, seats are for customers only.” If he didn’t show it to me, I wouldn’t believe it. So I asked him to airdrop it to me and hopefully I will be able to attach it to this review. Furthermore. As a civil rights atty, this is a blatant violation of federal laws under ADA. This delivery driver could have a medical condition such as diabetes, cardiovascular issues or at the very least, they could do the most humane civil thing and allow another human to rest while they wait 10-15 minutes to essentially help THIS business to make money. My heart broke for this person. He is working hard. He contributes to society and he wasn’t even offered a glass of cold water? Inhumane. Atrocious. By the way, the cashier man who shouts out orders is arrogant and very impolite. From what I’ve read in other reviews, the owner will now attack me in his response to...
Read moreThis establishment is NOT to be trusted. I had the pizza the first time & it was pretty good, the second time it seemed dry and burned but what ruined my takeout was that they never handed me my 2 cups for drinks that I paid for; also I wasn't given a receipt nor was I even offered one. So they forgot to give me my two drinks. After I left I realized it so I called and spoke with someone, they said come back but I couldn't as I was nearly home so the man said "next time". I was satisfied. Next time was yesterday and the rude sales person said "no one told me about that" and didn't want to give me my drinks. When he asked the name of who I spoke to I said I couldn't remember but if he told me the names of the employees I would remember and he could then check with them. He offered up four names to which I said it was none of them, he said "that's it". I said there's more than four people working right now. The pizza looked dry and burned so I thought I'd try a cheesesteak. I ordered one. When it came time to pay I thought I finally shamed him into complying and he gave me one cup. I reminded him that it was TWO missed drinks. He didn't want to give me two cups. I also thought it a little high that ONE cheesesteak would have cost $18.00 by itself (but I do understand that materials and labor are high), so I think he possibly tried to charge me for the drinks again with NO RECEIPT again. When I questioned the price he mumbled something in non English to which point I said never mind I don't trust what you're going to do to my cheesesteak now and I'd like my money back. He sarcastically and demeaningly said, "sure Sweetie, whatever you want". I reminded him that I was not his "Sweetie" and that I would never return since they basically stole two sodas from me. My money can be better spent elsewhere than to have to deal with this nonsense and poor service. As it turns out I just looked at the pricing online - $14.00 for a cheesesteak - with tax that's $14.84 NOT $18.00. If the owner would like to know which person is in question I noticed that he had one set of eyelashes completely blonde, the other black. If this is you (the owner) then shame on you because now the public knows how you run your business. If it's your employee, then it's time to train him on appropriate customer service. This establishment is NOT to be trusted. You will no doubt not be here long with...
Read moreI could give this place 5 stars for the customer service alone, but the food here is also outstanding. I've only been here twice, and the first time I had a lovely encounter with a regular who eats lunch there often. He told the man behind the counter it was my first time ordering and they offered two slices of pizza of my choice on the house. I was blown away by how kind this was and just the friendliness and whole vibe of this place. I've seen this place on Instagram and have heard nothing but good things, specifically regarding their cheesesteaks. The place was a lot clean and spotless which is appealing when you're doing the kind of business they are. I ordered the second time the other day for lunch with my co-workers. When my co-worker picked up our order, there was something missing from mine so when my co-worker called to let them know, the OWNER quickly offered to deliver it for us. I will tell you what, as a healthcare professional who is only given 30 minutes to order lunch, drive there to pick it up, drive back, and then find time to eat between patients, this was SO appreciated. He wouldn't even accept a tip which I so badly wanted to give him for his troubles as I know he was so busy during lunch rush. Thank you so much, your kindness does not go unnoticed. Anyway, now for the food! The cheesesteaks at this place are the best in the area, hands down. They season their meat so well, that there is flavor bursting in every bite despite what you add to it! I got fried onions and cooper sharp and that's all I need. The roll was seeded which I love and had a light toast to it which is perfect to stand up to the amounting of filling the sandwich has without getting soggy. I ordered a personal Abbruzese pizza which was literally perfect. The crust at this place is unmatched compared to other pizza places in the area, there is a nice crisp and a very slight char to it, but is by no means overdone. The flavor of ingredients on this pie worked so wonderfully together, and again the crust stood up to everything on top, no flop. The chicken pesto sandwich was good, and packed with ingredients. My co-worker said it best when she said "Since I've had that cheesesteak I can't stop thinking about this place and already...
