Mario's Northend Pizzaria — Restaurant in Westerly

Let me preface this review with I am from the nyc area. Apparently my definition of pizza is slightly different from New England. I ordered two pies one plain one with sausage. The pies are 14”, that’s tiny. They cook them so hot the cheese gets burned. The sauce tasted burned and like it was all tomato paste. I didn’t give one star because we ate it, it was edible, but I have had better pizza in airports. Also ordered a veal parm, I think I am still burping that up. Lots of games and arcade prizes for kids but don't be fooled by the pictures. What you see is all there is. There's about 5 tables in the whole place. My 9 year old thought the gluten free pizza was good. BUT I CAN NOT STRESS ENOUGH how bad the penne alfredo with chicken was. Homemade sauce? Interesting. And the pasta was so overcooked it was mush. The chicken was clearly from a bag and was also mushy. I paid $18 for a bucket of mushy bad Alfredo! Unless you're ordering something deep fried, don't go here....

Great "old school" pizzeria with full bar and private room used for parties. Great place for kids birthdays thanks to that private room being closed off (no kids wandering off is always a bonus) and packed with arcade games. My son just celebrated his 9th birthday as we choose to have his party at Mario's and we had a blast. The cost to rent the room was reasonable and included food and game tokens for everyone.
