Dougie's Ice Cream — Restaurant in Westland

Overall this is a good ice cream and custard shop.

Service is good as expected. No public restroom but they do have a couple tables and chairs inside along with a dedicated area outdoors with some picnic tables.

Custard is ok but the lack of a pure chocolate custard (they only have german chocolate) is both surprising and disappointing.

While the custard itself is passable it seems to be on par with other shops in the area and so does not stand out. (imo the best in the area is Ritter's).

Between this and the lack of a pure chocolate custard it's hard to recommend Dougie's when there are better options...

The line at Dairy Whip was just too long, so we searched on Google Maps for another option, and settled on Dougie's. Good choice! 😋 Most of the reviews I've looked at captured the high points, although I didn't see anyone mention the 27 (or 28?) different flavors of soft serve frozen custard. They all sound delicious! The owner says they will soon begin offering "real" ice cream as well. If they become as popular as Dairy Whip, they will definitely have to streamline their operation, but for the time being, it has a very nice...

OMG! I dreamt it....then I ate it! Door Dashed this order. Yeah, who does that with ice cream, right? We did....and in the 80's! Could have been a disaster. Thanks Dougie's for great packaging to keep things frozen til we got it delivered for the kiddies! Secure wrapped too! Great unique variety and great old favorites. The Oreo ice cream sandwiches were crispy and not soggy. Great fudge! Generous portions too! THANKS! :-) Happy group of ice cream lovers....
