I'll sum it up a bit if my review is too long. If i could give 0 stars, I would. They treated me like trash. This is, hands down, the worst dining experience of my entire life. Since its Mexican and everything is smothered in sauce I figured since I had never been here I would ask for some samples before I pick something I've never had. A lot of their sauces have a mild and hot version of the same thing and they had a long list of sauce types. I tried many of them and chose mild. When the food came and I had one or two bites it seemed unusually hot. I told them this but tried to give them the benefit of the doubt first. The more I ate my face turned red, eyes watered, mouth burned, throat burned, after 5 or 6 more bites I couldn't taste my food anymore and I was in visual distress as was obvious to my friend with me. I asked 3 more times and the waitress insisted the sauce was mild. Another waitress noticed my distress, brought me water, something else to minimize the heat, and she told our waitress this is not mild sauce take it back to the kitchen (something our own waitress would not do, she kept insisting the sauce was mild and that no mistake was made). She also told our waitress to have the food remade in the correct sauce, that they had given me hot, not mild. I assumed the burning mouth and throat, red face and watering eyes would go away soon, but it just seemed to get worse. Ten minutes later, it's no better, and I can't taste a thing. How my waitress and the manager handled it was very poor. The only staff in that restaurant that even seemed to care was another waitress that was very attentive. She was sweet and was the only one who stuck up for me while everyone else insisted I was wrong. It was strange to me how unapologetic they were. I couldn't taste the food they remade, and my mouth was still burning but I could tell it wasn't the same heat as before. Their hot sauce is so hot, it's intolerable. After suffering through that I figured they would be nicer about it but they weren't. The manager was very cold and unapologetic. I asked if they could take my food off the bill for going through all that and they told me if I wanted it taken off, I could not take home the remade food. I gave the food to the manager and went home thinking I'll call the restaurant later, it was weird for them to be so cold and mean. When I called the next day the owner was there and the same manager from the night before. They never really seemed to care about or acknowledge their mistake. I didn't want to go back if they were going to be so cold and dismissive about what happened, so I asked if I could get a free entree for the trouble for take out. I then got told over the phone that I was scamming them and that came not only from the manager but from the owner. I wanted to know how that was possible since I was in visual distress and it was obvious how miserable I was from eating food so hot I couldn't taste anything else and after my whole face, mouth and throat were on fire. He didn't agree, kept calling me a scammer, yet agreed to give me a free burrito anyway. I couldn't taste anything normally for three days and my tongue and taste buds felt burnt for 3 days afterwards. My stomach was also messed up. I know people make mistakes, that's not why this was the worst dining experience I've ever had in my life. It was the worst because of how I was treated. I've never had any place be that cold and heartless after they made a mistake and I ask for a basic entree to make up for the bad experience and get called a scammer over and over? You can't fake that kind of experience when your whole face turns bright red with your eyes...
Read moreIf I could give this restaurant 0 stars, I would. We've been here a few times and always received mediocre service but tonight was quite possibly the worst we've had, ever!! Our friends got there before us and asked for a high chair in anticipation of our arrival with our toddler. We got there and no highchair. Took the server a good 10 minutes to finally come by and get our drink order and a highchair. It took her another 20 or so to take our order. After what felt like at least 30 minutes of waiting for our food, the server comes back and tells us one of the cooks cut themselves in the kitchen and had to leave, so she was giving us a round of drinks on the house, since our food was taking so long. Cool. We wait another 15 minutes or so for said drinks and finally our food comes out. One meal is incorrect and my husband's meal didn't arrive with ours. When it finally did come out, it was cold. We eat mediocre food at best and wait for our check. And wait. She finally brings out our checks and it was wrong. At that point we didn't care and just wanted to pay and leave but she didn't come back to run our cards. We were so fed up, we decided to just go find someone at the bar so we could leave. She comes around the corner and asks if we're ready to check out. I'd like to point out that all of us dining tonight have been servers at some point. We understand the industry. Not once did a manager come out to ask how our experience was. It actually seemed like there was no manager on duty, which would explain how poorly the restaurant was being run. Lastly I'd like to mention they were not busy at all. 6pm on a Friday night and the restaurant was dead and we received the absolute worst service imaginable. So, if the Cook really did hurt themselves, I hope he/she gets better but honestly Corona's, do yourselves a favor and fix your wait staff. I have a feeling your killing your own business. We won't be back and will make sure we spread the message to our friends and family to stay away...
Read moreOur food was horrible. We had a party of 4, and all four of us had "dishes" that were inedible. My fiance's enchiladas were crusty tortillas smothered in a lukewarm cheese sauce and dry cheese filling. My best friend and my sister-in-law both ordered nachos that were inedible. The consistency between both orders of Nachos was woefully uncanny. The cheese was far from melted; toppings were a mess. Chilled lettuce was just thrown on top with cold ground beef akin to canned dog food and frigid sour cream slopped on all over. The Mini Rellenos were cold and hard egg rolls stuffed with curdled cheese and green chili sauce due to the aforementioned temperature above. Finally, my Carne Asadas garnish was an American blend salad mix bag with warm spinach, arugula, red cabbage, and don't forget the warm half-melted cheese on my cold tomato. My rice wasn't cooked thoroughly, so every bite, I had 1-2 grains that were hard and crunchy. En masse, the Asada was the best part of our meal, and it was medium-cooked rubber. Originally my dish was served without tortillas, and the black beans came in cold water.
The only reason I'm giving TWO stars instead of One is that the manager/customer service was lovely. They were very kind, understanding and refunded all of our food 100% (which is good... Because we didn't eat it.) That said, our Bar Tab was still almost $90, and we did NOT drink more than 6-7 drinks between the 4 of us.
This was Saturday evening about 730-8pm, and the restaurant was at about 35% capacity.
Maybe I'll go back and try again in a few months. Doubtful. I would need an incentive. Will update...
