Had very high hopes for my families visit here. Especially since their website described venue as ‘Upscale’. We looked forward to having a 3rd option next to Alba on 53 and Scarlet Oak. Put on a nice outfit and headed to 151. Hostesses were on point. They were dressed appropriately for an upscale experience. Greeted promptly and seated. The first thing noticed was how extremely loud the dining area was. I could not hear my family across the table, but could hear everything at the table next to me. The next thing noticed was how tightly packed the tables are together. I could not outstretch my arm completely without touching the person at the next table. Our server was lovely and took our drink and app order. The next thing I noticed was more than one customer dining in construction clothes and covered head to toe in dirt and reeking of hydraulic fluid. (Nothing against the working man-my families gets pretty dirty at work as well). ‘Upscale’ restaurants have a dress code. Family restaurants do not. The owner came over to see how things were and we gave him our concerns about the noise. He stated they were ‘working on the acoustics problem’. This is not the place for an intimate, quiet, upscale dining experience with your partner. It’s much too loud and the tables are too close together. The decor is beautiful. We left after we finished our appetizers, as it was much too noisy to try and sit through dinner. All of us had no complaints about the appetizers or service. Lastly, the menu is ala carte and the prices are definitely ‘upscale’. Unfortunately we were seeking the entire upscale dining experience and all that it entails. The website should read ‘family dining with ala carte prices’. We wish this place lots of luck and would like to try again in the future to see if the issues...
Read moreWe had a death in the family and while we were sorting through details we had lunch at Grille 151 to ask about their function abilities and to try their food. I had spoken with the hostess to get information and she said that the event coordinator was not in today. She sensed that we had been having a lot of issues with the funeral arrangements and were super stressed. I wish I remember her name because she went above and beyond to get me in contact with Donna, the event coordinator. I must say Donna is nothing short of amazing. She was in contact with me while I was still having lunch and before I left lunch I had the room availability and menus. Yesterday was the funeral, and double the amount of people we expected showed up. Donna grabbed me and told me that normally for this amount of people she would have another person and to just bare with her because she was doing it all and running the bar. When they saw the amount of people come in they had already started prepping more food in the kitchen. I cannot believe how smooth everything went and Donna handled the entire event flawlessly, I don't know how she did it. While she may have been tired we did not notice that there was only one person working our entire event. I cannot express enough gratitude from myself and my family. For such a stressful time, Donna and that staff at Grille 151, made something emotional and tough to something happy and enjoyable. Thank you! I should also give a shout out to the kitchen staff because the food was amazing. All people were talking about was how good the Chicken Parmesan and steak tips were, and the brownies, delicious! Thank you so much for your kindness, compassion, and the wonderful job you all did. We have decided that we will be regulars to the restaurant. Thank...
Read moreI think my fiancée and I have found our new favorite restaurant. For those of you looking for a cheap, easy meal, I recommend the McDonald's down the road. If you want incredible quality, value, and service, then Grille 151 is the place for you. The host was lovely and took care of us right away. Our server was attentive without being obtrusive, which is a fine line to tread. However, good service is nothing without good food, and they knocked it out of the park. We started with Clam Chowder and a House Caesar, and both were delicious; most importantly, they didn't skimp on the clams in the chowder! At most other similarly-priced places, you get potato chowder with a hint of clam (I ALWAYS get clam chowder). For our entrees, we decided to do a little surf and turf...I got the lobster roll (came with fries) and she got the 8oz Filet Medium Rare (came with mashed potatoes and asparagus). The lobster roll was absolutely PACKED with fresh lobster, had the perfect seasoning, and a non-overpowering amount of mayo. The filet was cooked exactly medium rare, had great standalone flavor, and with the gorgonzola cream sauce it was unbelievable. Great quality and quantity for the price. We were stuffed and couldn't do dessert, but we definitely will try...
