I don’t often write reviews, but after the way Kerri made my day at Papa Gino’s, I felt like I had to share.
It was one of those days where everything felt off. I had been juggling work, family, and a million little things, and by the time I walked into Papa Gino’s, I was just tired — physically, mentally, emotionally. The weight of it all was starting to catch up with me.
Kerri greeted me with a warmth that instantly made me feel like I had stepped into a place of comfort. It wasn’t just her smile or the way she took my order with such care. There was something in the way she listened — something genuine in her eyes that made you feel seen, even if you didn’t say much.
As I waited for my pizza, I noticed she was moving through the restaurant, checking in on everyone with the same quiet attentiveness. There was an older couple sitting by the window who seemed like they’d been regulars for years, and Kerri greeted them like they were old friends. She made small talk with the kids at the counter, and even joked with the kitchen staff as if they were all part of a team, working together to make everyone’s experience just a little bit better.
When my pizza came, Kerri handed it to me with a simple, kind gesture and asked, “How’s your day going, really?” I had no idea why, but I found myself telling her how overwhelmed I was — just how much I had been carrying lately. Instead of brushing it off, she listened, truly listened, and said something that stuck with me: “You don’t have to carry it all alone. Sometimes, you just need a good slice and a moment to breathe.”
It felt like she had just handed me a gift — not just pizza, but a small reminder that it's okay to pause, to be human, and to take a moment for yourself.
That’s what I left with. Not just a delicious meal, but a sense of peace I hadn’t realized I needed. Kerri didn’t just serve me food; she served me a reminder of what it feels like to be cared for in a simple, human way.
If you find yourself at Papa Gino’s, and Kerri’s working, know that you’re not just getting a great meal — you’re also getting a little bit of kindness that can make all the difference...
Read moreTo preface this, I have ordered from this location for years both online and over the phone. I know how the app works and the accuracy of orders within. That being said, I am incredibly dissatisfied with my order today. I ordered 3 pizzas online. The app told me the order would be delivered by 6:05. My receipt says the order would be delivered by 6:05. The timeframe came and went. I understand places are busy and sometimes an order might be delayed 10-15 minutes. By 6:35 I began wondering what the hold up was. The app kept updating and went from the 6:05 timeline to 6:25. Finally at 6:51 I called to cancel my order. The guests I had needed to leave and couldn't wait any longer. When I called, the person didn't seem to care that I was told the delivery time was 45 minutes earlier. They told me that the 6:05 time was when the order would begin and delivery would be within 45 minutes of the 6:05 timeframe. ( from the app: Delivery Time: Monday November 27, 2023 06:05 PM). When I tried to cancel the order they were trying to convince me otherwise saying the order was already out and wanted to know if "I was sure" I wanted to cancel it. When the delivery driver arrived, he profusely apologized for how long it took to receive the order (without me saying anything about the delay). I know it's not their fault so I appreciated them acknowledging that there was a delay as opposed to the person I spoke to on the phone. I feel that a 45+ minute delay is...
Read moreThis is hands down one of the worst-run Papa Gino’s I’ve ever been to. The place, as of recently, is always chaotic, orders take forever, and no one seems to know what they’re doing. Meanwhile, the manager, who you’d think would be helping to get things under control is constantly outside smoking. Every time I’ve been here recently, she’s just standing out front like it’s a break lounge while the staff inside scrambles. Not to mention, in front of the restaurant which is rather unfortunate, as no one wants to walk through a cloud of cigarette smoke, rather get second-hand smoke, all for a poorly made, and over priced pizza. It’s incredibly unprofessional and frustrating as a customer. It was never like this before, I have no idea what is going on. This used to be my go-to lunch spot. A quick two slices and a drink, got my food within seconds, and could enjoy my full 30 minutes. Now, I can't even eat this pizza, as the pizzas in the warmer are one, not even circular, and two, not even existent, as I have to wait an insane amount of time for what used to be a mindless grab and go. Again, I'm not sure what is going on, and I quite frankly don't care enough to find out. Definitely not...
