I had a bad experience with this restaurant—small portions, poor flavor, and a confusing refund situation that left me frustrated. I also made an offhand comment during that time that, in hindsight, was culturally insensitive. That wasn’t my intention, and I’ve taken time to reflect on it.

For context, I’m someone who eats 10 grams of shrooms a couple times a year, sits in ceremonies with bufo, kambo, and once ate 8 grams of Amanita pantherina. So when I half-jokingly asked for a peyote walk in exchange for the disappointing meal, I was genuinely speaking from a place that values altered states—but I now understand how that request came off, and I regret how I framed it.

All that said, the food still wasn’t worth $92.00 to me—but I do respect their mission to source ingredients from Indigenous farms and use traditional, regenerative practices. I hope they continue finding the right audience. Just...

Loved this! Ordered for the first time and will be back. Everything on their menu is 100% plant-based, which is really awesome. We got the pozole and it was incredible, especially with the abundant toppings and high quality ingredients (flavor was well developed). The prickly pear lemonades were good too (not too sweet or sour, but still flavorful). I split the fry bread panini with my partner and we both really liked it, good use of jalapenos and spice:) Finished off with their blue corn cake, the berries on top were a wonderful touch. Next time I'd order two. Highly recommend for unique and delicious food you can't find...

Just picked up my order. The people here are the sweetest. Highly recommend getting your order earlier if there is something you want because they might run out, but everything is so amazing.

Editing the next day: I just finished my leftovers and they kept so well. Everything I ordered made me feel amazing and felt very intentionally made. I really appreciate how well everything is labeled on the menu and how the ingredients are all so carefully selected. I will absolutely be going back. Also note for those who like me got lost - the ordering window is on the side...

Ch'il food is thoughtful, healing and creative. I've had some blue corn poptarts at the annual Corn Festival that were AMAZING and then I got to learn how to make blue corn dumplings and try some delicious squash and bean soup. Each ingredient either came from Ch'il's garden or another indigenous farm/garden <3. It feels so meaningful to eat this food and to know how much care that is behind it for the revival of indigenous foodways and care for the land and our bodies.

Every single time I have had the pleasure of enjoying beautiful plates by Ch’il Indigenous I am truly taken aback by the flavors and the creativity. Everything is done with intention, & the holiday cookie box & jalapeño popper roll were two of the best things I have ever had! The owner is incredibly kind & and a community leader. As a fellow vegan business owner, I couldn’t recommend her food more!
