ordered online to come in and pick -up, as we often do. we take the dog for a walk while we go to pick up food, until lastnight, when I was told they need to see the receipt from the app in order to get my food, this is a first, and I have been coming here for 10 years, always order to go, she would not give me my order even though I gave her the name on the order, told her exactly what the order was, but would not give me my food without having my phone (that I left at home since we were walking dog) and never needed this before,How would I know exactly what the order was, that was already paid for. She refused to give me my order, offered to show her my boyfeiends card, as it should have the info, or at least the last 4 numbers, something. offered ti show the reciept he had on hia phone, for Dennys, no it had to be from the app, so had to be inconvenienced by walking all the way back home, come all the way back, and upon coming all the way back, i asked that the food be remade, as it had been sitting for well over an hour by this time, she refused. She also refused a refund, saying she not authorized, so my only choice was to take the cold food that had been sitting for over an hour, THIS is what you call customer service!! I do not see why the food could not be remade, no attempt to correct or make anything right, abd notice how the owner is SO QUICK to respond to all the good reviews, but barely at all to negative ones, no attempt to fix anything. I highly recommend not coming to this place that don't care if they inconvenience you, or that you have to pay for cold food that sat there while you had to be inconvenienced. Horrible experience, and I have worked in Restaurants most my adult life, cant ever sew treating a guest this way,...
Read moreWalked in with some desperation for protein after some gym time only to be greeted first with "you can't have a backpack"--I have a tiny bag with a small laptop and a math text (no joke, learning comp sci atm), and have come here off and on for 20 years not because the other great reviews on Google that are obviously paid-for are accurate, but because it's open. Quality people seem always to be taken to another location (as prior employees here told me bluntly) or to quit and it just keeps declining: have never had any issue with even large bag much less a tiny bag. "Ok, you just lost $50" (I was that hungry) as I left and, no joke, the hostess responded "no I didn't" like she wanted to pick a verbal fight. I was too ready here with a friend as well... but I'll let him know the deal and we'll now both prioritize any place but Denny's. No need to go to places that have employees that seem to enforce fake or stupid policies that have never been in decades or try to fight you when you're here for a few servings of steak and eggs. Just don't want to deal with the ever-worsening quality, service, cleanliness issues, terrible employees who want to fight (no way to then trust them no to hurt the food on purpose--not that they haven't been serving up still-frozen goods you must send back...for years), or crime from the cheapest hotels around on either side (one directly, another a short walk to the west) of the place: indeed this very evening I spent my first 10 minutes waiting on the car to watch a guy with a right hand held to his waist like someone trained always to be ready to draw staring at me like he wanted me to get out of the car, who only left when I drive away...
Read moreIF YOU DON'T DRIVE A VEHICLE, YOU CAN'T EAT HERE!!! This restaurant has really gone downhill when it comes to staff. My son and I came in a little bit late. Most other food places were closed and there were not many options. We were running on empty and needed food big-time. As soon as we walked in we were pretty much told to leave. My son rides an electric scooter that can fold up and actually fits under a dining table or booth. She would not allow the foldable scooter in "HER" restaurant. I'm like but we're paying customers for dine in!? It doesn't matter she claimed. Are you serious?? Any other restaurants within a 10 mile radius allows it and they don't even say anything when we come inside. NOT DENNY'S!! So do they claim to be on a higher level than all the other restaurants around them? I. Think not. They barely even had any customers. You would think they would be happy someone is dining in their empty restaurant. So, do you turn away mother's with huge baby strollers?? They are more annoying and in the way than something that can go under a table. This is not disrespect towards mothers by no means. I'm just trying to prove a point. I do not plan on ever returning and you can blame it on the judgemental woman who refused us. I am highly respected by this community and I do plan on making sure people know about the judgement and refusing 2 starving people who needed to eat. There was almost nothing opened by this time and I was on foot. It's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. I will no longer be ordering online through any delivery service and I will be telling people in the community and out, never to eat at Denny's near I-70...
