I have been watching this place and was really excited to give it a try. I was even more excited that they had a drive-through. The gentleman on the intercom was super friendly and gave a few options. But really not into a sweet potato latte in the morning. I ended up getting an iced vanilla latte oatmilk with an extra shot. I didn’t realize the shot was gonna be two dollars. I ended up paying $10 just for my coffee. And then I proceeded to add a tip because the gentleman over the intercom was super friendly. Well, the guy that handles the credit card machine was not very friendly. I tried to speak to him but he didn’t say one word. I said thank you. He just stared at me. Weird right. And then I felt like I had to give them a tip because he’s holding the credit card machine out to you directly. It’s very uncomfortable.
Let me get to the Coffee. I was super excited I’m telling you I’ve been hearing great things about this. But maybe just the cost did not equal out the taste. It taste like watered coffee with a little bit of shot. No vanilla and a ton of oat milk. For $10 I can go buy all the stuff myself and make it better. Which I ended up doing. Not the best way to...
Read moreFirst off, I'm a fan of Huck's coffee in general and buy it all the time at the grocery store. But there's a major value issue when it comes to buying things from their cafes.
I fully support their mission with small farms and farmers and I know that's what partly leads to their pricing.
But on top of the high pricing ($4.50 for a small drip, $5.50 for a cold brew and $6.25 for an iced latte), they ask for a tip at the drive-thru window. So, for example, a cold brew comes out to almost $7 with even a miniscule 10% tip (which isn't even an option on the screen).
Also, be aware, the bags of beans at their cafe locations cost more than they do at Safeway or Whole Foods. So even if you think the "free drip with beans purchase" is a good deal, it's actually not much of one at all. And I know it's because they are paying their people well. But then why have such high tipping presets?
Not a complete Huck hater but it's just hard to justify visiting their cafes when the bill is $14+ for...
Read moreSAVE YOUR MONEY FOR OTHER WHEAT RIDGE COFFEE SHOPS! This is by far, THE WORST! -Cold “hot” coffee: my hot latte was served just shy over refrigerated temperature. On par with the temp you’d serve your toddler before bed. -Ordered an extra shot for $2.50, and my latte tasted like there wasn’t a shot of espresso in the cup. -Ordered a size large and received the equivalent to a small at Starbucks. -Limited syrup choices- NO SUGAR FREE OPTIONS AT ALL! So much for dietary considerations for people (ie. diabetes). -Rude customer service! We were treated like an inconvenience to the staff that’s hired to be there.
Denver needs to stay in Denver- rip your yuppie friends off somewhere else. Your business will not survive in Wheat Ridge! Coffee from 7-11 across the street has better taste and is actually hot!
