I want to start by saying I dont write reviews for restaurants in general because I am not picky or demanding but also due to the fact that I have worked in the restaurant industry for a while and completely understand but with that being said please take this review as the most honest ubiased review on my behalf before you visit . I will highlight the good in this visit to this small "family owned" style diner, the waiter was very friendly. However, the lack of transparency in their price change is very absurd especially when its advertised on their website and google yet when they hand you the menu all the old prices are crossed out. I get it, you have to keep up with inflation and demand but that is properly and reasonably calculated when you care about your customers and the good standing of your business, doubling the price on most of your menu lower priced menu items or adding a $5.00 upcharge on all entrees while everything on your menu is unchanging is crazy and very unreasonable. The food is at best decent if anything, just what you would expect from a small family owned diner. It's definitely nothing fancy nor worth the hike in prices of about 50% and there are certainly more tasty, higher food quality and ethical places you could have a simple breakfast at for the same price you are going to get charged here. I definitely dont mind spending the equivalent or more when you know the food will be top notch and really worth the price but Im sorry, this place is not worth the crazy inflated prices on their menu that are covered with white out and written in by them to what they think their food is worth and this review comes from someone in the restaurant industry who knows all the cost and demand of running a...
Read moreI've been wanting to try a new breakfast spot near me for awhile now. I'd rather spend my money somewhere local instead of a chain like Denny's or IHOP or whatever so Joe's seemed perfect & it was. Service was excellent, prices were more than fair for the portions & I got my food so quickly, even with it being packed, that at first I figured it must've been someone else's order that just so happened to get the exact same thing. I ordered the chicken fried steak & eggs(over easy), hash browns & bacon with a Belgian waffle on the side. The chicken fried steak was great, the breading was spot on. Eggs were a perfect over easy, the side of bacon was a REAL side of bacon, not just 2 or 3 measley over cooked pieces of bacon like so many chains seem to do, and the Belgian waffle was amazing as well. A fluffy center with nice slightly crisped uneven outer edges from the cooker, everything had that great home cooked feel that reminds me of going to the local diner for breakfast with my granddad when I was a kid. I've found my new Sunday breakfast spot & I highly recommend it to anyone reading this. Support local businesses!!...
Read moreI go into restaurants intending to give 5 stars - I really do. I don’t want to make a difficult job harder than it needs to be, and restaurant-ing is not easy. That said, did not have the best experience here. Seems a little worn inside, but that may be the vibe folks like, but it didn’t sit too well with me. Food started on a high note with the tortilla soup - not bad at all: hardy and flavorful with a little bite of heat. A bit downhill from there. I then had the Mexican Combo Plate and my mate had BLT on whole wheat toast, no mayo. The latter came with mayo - we don’t like to waste food so we kept it to ourselves, trusting they would have gladly replaced it. The tomatoes were a little less than ripe. My plate was passable but hardly inspiring. Little hard to identify by taste what the sauce was that smothered the burrito, it was just kinda congealed, brown possibly oniony stuff. Staff were pleasant enough, but seemed ready for closing time. I like to give places more chances, so I’ll be back - not sure my mate will be, however - and will update if there is an...
