Incredibly disappointed with my first experience with Winchell's. I ordered a GrubHub delivery in which they didn't have a coffee item I requested -- which I was totally fine with. My driver reached out to me and asked what I would want replaced. However, when my GrubHub driver arrived, they mentioned that the restaurant wouldn't allow them to request the replacement item because they had already refunded the item (and mentioned the staff was unpleasant to them). The restaurant refunded my item with the claim "they were not able to reach me for a replacement" (no one else tried contacting me other than my driver who they ignored). This is all a minor inconvenience until I tried to call about my missing donut holes. GrubHub has an issue where you can't report issues with an order where an item has already been refunded. So I called Winchell's to see if they could also just refund the donut holes like the missing coffee. But before I could finish explaining myself, the employee on the phone started talking over me in what I can best describe is "mansplaining" an item being out of stock or not on the menu. I had to talk over this employee to tell them I was inquiring about my missing donut holes and not the missing coffee. The employee mumbled something about being able to report it to GrubHub, didn't offer any other assistance, and after an awkward silence, hung up. I was so exasperated, it's not even worth the $5 for the donut holes, but is definitely not worth trying to...
Read moreGarbage donuts with garbage customer service. Donuts are stale with melted frosting on it. Their Boston Cream donut is NOT a REAL Boston Cream donut. I'm from Boston and our Boston creams don't taste NOTHING like that! We also ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches on plain bagels. The girl in the back came out front and said, they have no more plain bagels, so we asked for our money back for the sandwiches. She rolled her eyes and went out back. We waited for our refund, and they acted like they weren't going to give us one. The guy who worked there tried to intimidate my husband by having another guy standing next to him, as if they were gonna double team someone. (Lmao). The girl from the back, came back upfront and said, we have plain bagels. (Smh).Nah, lady you play too many games, we want our money. My husband made sure we left with our refund. Despite, the attitudes and the clowns working there trying to intimidate someone for asking, for a refund. Not everyone is...
Read moreAfter multiple negative experiences at our local Dunkin’ Donuts, I decided to try out our local Winchells. The first time, I arrived to find the person at the counter fumbling with her mask and complaining about the governor’s orders for wearing them. I got my donuts and made a quick exit, as a variety of other folks (without masks) were hanging out at the tables (before anyone had been approved for dine-in). The next time I tried going, I walked in to find that none of the employees were wearing masks, in spite of the fact that the older woman was coughing (not into her arm or away from the food). I was next in line, but at that point, I knew I wouldn’t be able to stomach eating anything she served me, so I simply walked out. I’m obviously of the opinions that masks are a courtesy to help keep us all safe—and, if you’re not willing to follow the local mask mandate, I just don’t need to give you my business—If rather...
