A friend of mine recommended Pho & Banh Mi, and based on the high recommendation, we had to stop by and give this place a try.
I ordered the Grilled Beef Sandwich and Coconut Juice.
The grilled beef sandwich had shredded lettuce, julienned pickled veggies, vermicelli, and charbroiled beef, with crushed peanuts on top.
Wow, it was a masterpiece! BUT it is a small sandwich! I could have ordered 2 to fill me up. For this sandwich, you can choose to go with the option of chicken or pork.
One of my friends had chicken fried rice, but not like in Chinese restaurants. Another had a lemongrass chicken. Two had the soup bowls, another had the pho. Everything was fresh and delicious. I could have eaten half the bowl, but I couldn't stop, it was so delicious!
The wait staff are very efficient and friendly. We were a large group, and they were very accommodating. The small restaurant is in an area with other stores and restaurants, and it seems hidden away. Also, chairs are bright red and metal, but surprisingly comfortable.
I'll come here again and bring...
Read moreMy husband and I went here because Mi La Cay was closed and we figured it was a good opportunity to try another Vietnamese restaurant in the area. This is a clean-looking restaurant with a pretty fish tank and our server was as attentive as he could be as the one person manning both the tables and the register. Our grilled beef appetizer was halfway decent, so we were feeling hopeful for our entrees. Unfortunately, the main dishes had to have been the worst Vietnamese food I have eaten in my life. The Bun Bo Hue I ordered was flavorless and had little else but noodles. Not great for a dish known for its bold, over the top flavor! My husband's dish, the sour soup, was nearly inedible. He was having a bad day and was starving so he did the best he could, but the broth had the cloying metallic flavor of canned pineapple juice. He couldn't even get halfway through before abandoning it. I really feel misled by whoever's been giving this place high reviews. I will be sticking with Mi La Cay and Lotus Cafe in...
Read moreWhat a disgraceful place! My family has been coming here for years for the banh mi, it's similar to the Banh Mi So 1's sandwiches in Eden Center which is our go-to place. So I know the cashier who did this to me! I came there a while back and ordered two of the sandwiches to-go with my debit card. The cashier then opened the kitchen door and called to the staff to make TWO sandwiches, and then he gave them to me and I went outside. THEN I decided to check my receipt and found that he charged me for 5 sandwiches! When I went back inside, the guy saw me and disappeared into the kitchen; someone else spoke for him and redid the whole transaction. This is pitiful, I haven't dined there many times and I haven't been back for anything since. Other than for their banh mi, I don't know why this place has such good reviews when it's practically empty almost every time I used to go there. I hope that guy...
