Moretti's Wheeling — Restaurant in Wheeling Township

This review is only happening because of multiple visits to this location where this manager has offended, not just me but his customers and his team members. Today, I was there with a group of five other ladies we meet weekly. It’s very exciting to see our friends every week and then we get to listen to wonderful music outside. It was very hot today so we decided to sit inside to eat. After we ate, we went outside to listen to music, then there was an absolute torrential downpour. We ran to the outside café area by the restaurant for shelter from the rain.We had just spent almost $200 at dinner tonight, I was not aware I should take my receipt to my forehead. The manager MIKE proceeded to yell at us. “You can’t be here you can’t bring drinks from somewhere else”. Somewhere else, I’m sorry do you mean your restaurant? Absolutely no hospitality, no understanding for the fact that it was raining like in the days of Noah. This man, who I’ve heard over and over yelling at team members and complain about others was rude to my friends. I’m sorry, but your job as a manager is to be the support staff for your team not a dictator. And when it comes to customers, you do everything you can to make people feel happy and excited that they’re at your establishment when you yell at people you lose customers, and your owners lose money! We recently went in for a family lunch and had an unpleasant experience. My husband and I were treating our family to lunch post our daughters baptism. We were embarrassed by the service we experienced and felt bad for bringing out family there. We had made reservations, but our table was not ready when we arrived. No one took drink orders. We had to ask for water for the table - once the waitress brough carafes of water we had to ask for glasses which took another 10-15 minutes to be brought to the table. We ordered the family style add on salads and pizzas. When the salad came, we were shocked at the size. We ordered the large size and there is no way it serves 4-5 people. It was enough for MAYBE 2 people to split. We thought they made an error in the salad but per the waitress it was correct. She said she would bring a manager to make sure our order was indeed right but no one ever came. We were there on a Sunday after noon and it was very slow - not many customers. The service was SOO slow. Our waitress hardly came to the table and when she did she would take foever to come back. We had two kids at the table who ordered apple juice. It took over 20 minutes for her to bring it. When she brought it...........IT WAS IN A BOTTLE. We have no idea what took so long. Maybe they went to the store for it.....Overall they have a lot to work on at this restaurant but it was a very bad experience. It was not worth the price we paid that day. Worst ever, we had appetizers and drinks ok. Then we ordered dinner . My wife ordered a meatball salad with no tomatoes, her sister ordered a cob salad, I ordered a meatball sub sandwich. . We waited a long time . The server came with two salads the cob salad seemed ok but maybe small. The meatball salad came but NO meatballs no garlic bread it was just a plate of lettuce. We waited thinking maybe they will bring the rest on other plates. They did not . I flagged the waiter and told him my wife didn’t get her meatballs and garlic bread he took her plate away and asked me how I liked my meatball sub sandwich. I told him I didn’t get it yet . He apologized and came back with my wife’s meatball salad .They put 2 meatballs and ricotta cheese and 2 pieces of cold garlic bread with what looked like cold butter. My meatball sandwich came ,a piece of bread with 2 meatballs with some type of white cheese. No sauce the bread was cold and not garlic bread. I took one bite and send it back, I got the bill and left. We go to Moretti’s often but never this one and never this one again. I left a 20% tip . But I should have left nothing .
