DeFelice Bros Pizza - Wheeling — Restaurant in Wheeling

Let me start this review by stating that there was a time when DeFelice Bros. Pizza was the LAST place where I would have ordered from. A co-worker brought to my attention that this store is under new ownership, and that the quality of the food has vastly improved.

So, I decided to give them a try last week (and am ordering lunch from there today). PHENOMENAL. The service was friendly, the delivery prompt, the pizza delivered hot, and the pizza tasted absolutely delicious. I have gone through a lot of pepperoni with jalapeno peppers pizzas in my years. NOT ONE even comes close to how good the pizza that I ordered last week from DeFelice Bros. Pizza tasted.

The quality of the food is remarkably better than it was before. Now, what used to be the last place I would order pizza from - literally, as I used to win gift cards for them and give them away - is now easily one of the first, if not the first. Kudos to the new ownership for turning this place...

Too bad there isn't a 0 recommendation!!! We made an online order at 8pm on 12/28. 2 salads and a sandwich. The order was supposed to be delivered in 40 minutes. At 9pm I called for status. The man that answered said it was on its way. Mind you, we were 0.2 miles from the restaurant. We had just traveled 8 hrs and were too exhausted to pick up the order. At 945 my husband called and the man said Juan just walked out the door with our order. It is 1040pm as I write this. The front desk of the hotel we're staying at recommended your restaurant. Believe me, I will definitely tell them to never recommend you again. It's obvious you have incompetent staff that also lies to your customers. In these days of the supposed hardships restaurants are having, you're not going to...

One of my favorite pizza places in the valley. I absolutely love their "oven fried" crust...It is a little bit thicker than a lot of places (but not deep dish) and has a great buttery taste and nice light crunch. There are plenty of other menu options such as calzones, baked subs, pasta, and salads if your not in the mood for pizza. I have had several of their sandwiches, calzones, apps, and pastas and i must say they have all been good. I don't recommend the pretzel sticks, they sort of just taste like bread sticks with butter and salt, but that's about the only thing i have ever gotten from here...
