This was a great place to stay for the week! My boyfriend had training for work in the area, so I came along with him, and spend my days hanging out at the hotel.
Allow me to lay out the pros and cons of our stay!
Pros: Great breakfast selection & renovated lobby! Comfortable, clean, updated rooms! Staff was friendly and just absolutely amazing! They had a pool and gym! (I forgot both tennis shoes AND swimsuit... go figure! Bummer!)
Note: Each morning as I was catching up on reading in the lobby, I witnessed staff members in the breakfast area and front desk go above and beyond for guests. (Shiela at the front desk was phenomenal!) One morning, an elderly couple approached one of the breakfast attendants around 10:00am, disapointed that there was no food out. (breakfast was closed at 9:30, and they didn’t realize) Without missing a beat, the lady said she would go fix some fresh eggs for them. She delivered hot eggs to their table, and even offered to make them toast!
Due to the fact that I was at the hotel through the day, I spent quite a bit of time in the lobby, so housekeeping could freshen our room. They did their very best to accommodate me by telling me what time they would be coming across the second floor. There was only one day that we didn’t coordinate properly, and I was out of the room for 3 hours from 9am to Noon. Upon returning, they hadn’t cleaned and when they finally came around 2:00 PM, I told her that I would take fresh towels and trash can liners - in exchange for our used ones. She was nice, apologized for the misunderstanding on times, and came to me the next day to see if I would like her to clean my room earlier in the day.
One afternoon I was sitting in my usual corner in the lobby reading my book again, and one of the staff members approached me with a cold bottle of water. He said that he wanted to offer it to me because I had been sitting there a while. I wish I had caught the man’s name... but I think I overheard a conversation where it was mentioned that he was the marketing coordinator perhaps... anyway, thank you sir! I was thirsty!
Cons: Really? I can’t think of many... the only true hiccup was the key card system to get into the rooms. Our cards would work on the first try at times, and other times it would take a few attempts. At one point we both had to get our cards replaced to get back in our room. But the situation was remedied quickly by the friendly front desk staff. Hopefully they are able to fix that little bug with the key card system!
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. I would...

I reserved a one-night stay on 11/12, to check out on 11/13. When I arrived to the property on 11/12, I had to wait about 20 minutes for someone to arrive at the lobby to check me in.
My room was cold and dirty. The lights above the bed did not turn out - and would only dim so I had to sleep all night with the lights on.
I received my folio for a one-night stay. But when I checked my credit card statement about a week later, it appeared I had been charged an extra night stay.
I called the hotel and did not receive any assistance. They argued with me how I had stayed a second night. Ryan was not helpful - and disconnected our call. I reached him again and stated I wanted to know what the issue was - and why I was being charged and could provide receipts, confirmation, etc. - he was not interested in receiving this. In my Bonvoy app, it now shows a 2-night stay, which I did not reserve. Luckily, I still have my email confirmation of a 1-night stay reservation and my folio at checkout. I was in Wheeling dealing with an urgent matter and have emailed proof that I was not even in the area by the afternoon I had checked out.
Ryan proceeded to tell me I had been charged a second night because I had "left things behind in the hotel" and they just went ahead and charged me a second night's stay. I absolutely did not leave anything behind. I asked what he was referring to and what was left behind. He would not provide me with an answer. I have emailed national customer service care, I've emailed the assistant manager of the facility twice, I've emailed bonvoy customer service. I have forwarded all of my documentation that I did in fact check out. I have indicted they should check their cameras - outside the room, the halls, the lobby, etc. everything from the morning I checked out on the 13th. Ryan said he wouldn't be doing that. I questioned whether the facility had lost and found and what their policy was should a guest accidently leave anything behind - and he would not answer me.
I reached Josh the assistant manager of the facility this morning who asked that I call back at 1:15. I have called several times and left a message and it appears I may now be being ghosted. This was a case of simply issuing a refund for an error that I was overcharged --- but now seems like something much more. It begs the question, who used that room the second night? Everything about this place is shady. Please save your money and go down the street to the Hampton Inn, which was my first choice but they were...
Read moreWe booked a room for a Sunday night. The hotel wasn't busy. Front desk assigned us a rm. However when we got up in the morning , we were unable to take a shower. The water temperature was either scalding hot or freezing cold. We finally gave up and did a quick wash up in the sink. We went down to front desk to report it and that front desk clerk said...I thought we got this fixed in Fri ( which was 2 days prior to our check in). So they were aware there was an issue with this on that room. She said someone would be in contact with us. Waited a few days and decided to email the hotel. A supervisor responded and said since I had booked through a third party(priceline), there was nothing Marriott could do. Since I wasn't happy with this answer , I forwarded my complaint to the GM, Chris Heaton. He told me that he would reach out to Priceline and get back to me. Well two weeks go by and no attempt to reach out to me by this GM. So I contacted Priceline and they issued me a 50 pct discount. I Still have not heard back from the GM and I had to reach out to Priceline on my own. What bothers me is Marriott is refusing to accept that Priceline booked me the room but Marriott neglected to provide me with the services they promised. I am not blaming Priceline. But Marriott is neglect in providing a basic service for that room. On top of this, when we Checked in, I asked the clerk if I could still have my points for Marriott even if I had booked through priceline added and she assured me Yes that was possible. But then while doing all this leg work with the water issue , I find out that Marriott would not add those points fir that stay..And here's the shocker....if you have no activity for 2 years with Marriott they will expire your points. So all 11000 of my points expired in Nov 23. Very disappointed with how Marriott handled this. Especially since Marriott is considered to be a topnotch hotel!! Shame on you Marriott for a really poor...
