If you're craving a guilt-free indulgence that hits all the right notesāvibrant freshness, mouthwatering yumminess, and top-notch ingredientsāNautical Bowls is your port of call. This chain specializes in superfood smoothie bowls, smoothies, and seasonal creations made with organic, plant-based goodness, and I've got to say, it lives up to the hype. Here's my take, echoing what so many rave about. What I Loved (and Why It Earns Those 5 Stars)
Freshness Factor: Every bite (or slurp) screams fresh-picked perfection. The fruits are bright and juicyāthink ripe strawberries, creamy bananas, and tropical pitaya that tastes like it was blended minutes ago. No soggy or frozen-aftertaste disappointments here; it's all about that just-harvested vibe that leaves you energized, not weighed down.
Yumminess Overload: These aren't bland "health food" bowlsāthey're dessert disguised as nutrition. The bases (like aƧaĆ, mango, or blue majik) are creamy and naturally sweet, layered with crunchy granola, nut butters, and superfood add-ins like cacao nibs or chia pudding. My go-to, the Nauti Bowl (aƧaĆ + pitaya + peanut butter + bananas), was a flavor explosion: rich, nutty, and satisfying without being overly sweet.
Fresh Fruit & Ingredients: Customization is king! Pile on endless toppingsāfresh berries, kiwi, coconut flakes, or seasonal gems like pumpkin-spiced elements in fall bowls. Everything's gluten-free, dairy-free, and soy-free, with transparent, high-quality sourcing that shines through. Pro tip: The pitaya base is a game-changer for that vibrant pink pop and subtle tang.
Seasonal Bowls: Nautical Bowls nails the rotating menu with limited-time drops like the Strawberry Protein Bowl (hello, fall fiber boost!) or matcha-infused options that keep things exciting. It's like a surprise party for your taste buds, tied to what's in season for max freshness.
Smoothies on Point: If bowls aren't your speed, their smoothies are equally stellarāthick, sippable, and packed with the same superfoods. I tried a mango-coconut blend post-workout, and it was refreshing without the sugar...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI THINK we might have been the ones being referred to in two reviews from the last marketfest Thursday. My teen, my teenās friend and I (the mom) got to Nautical Bowls a few minutes before closing and the door was unexpectedly locked. The kids turned to go, but I grabbed the door as someone was leaving and had the kids come in with me. I asked if we could order quick, and yeah, the girl was less than enthused. I was going to get something, but decided to just let my teen order. When my teen picked up their order, he told the girl the reason we really wanted to get a Nautical Bowls was because of all my teenās food allergies, and my teen thanked the worker, who smiled warmly at my teen and said something nice. We scooted out after that, so canāt comment on what anyone else asked or said to the workers after we left, and there were still customers inside eating/drinking. Bottomline for us is, weāve been there many, many times. We love the food. We typically get excellent service, in fact several employees know us by name, and even know our favorite orders! Anyone can have a busy/bad night, we got that. We left very happy and grateful.
That being said, Iām not happy that the new owners bumped up the prices and hope they reconsider. I have to believe they are missing the sweet spot of the number of sales crossed with the profit margin, at the current price point. I know we wonāt be buying as many Nautical Bowl, due to the price. Quality of product and service are...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe went to Nautical Bowl tonight and this will be the last. We got in at 730pm. We got a bowl which was ok but the smoothies were not good. They were watered down and had too much ice in it. The girl working at the front was not friendly. The girls working locked the door before closing. A family tried getting in at about 745pm but the doors were locked. Closing is at 8pm. A person, not a workermind you, let the family in and the mom asked if they can be served. The girl said "I guess..." That was rude and not professional. The girl was very cold towards the mom. We could tell the girls were trying to get out early to go to Market fest. We asked them if they were going to Marketfest and one of the girls said "We're trying to!" How rude. Over priced bad smoothies and rude staff. I would recommend the management provide training on work etiquette to their staff. They are being paid to work, not close the place early and be rude. Also if Marketfest is going on, management could be there to help with late comers and let staff leave early or...
