Decades ago, I worked for Roadhouse (not Texas Roadhouse but similar) as a hostess, server and bartender at various locations. To say my expectations were high for this new location in Indiana PA is an understatement.
I am not a shopper but tonight I sincerely wish I had been. This was our second visit to this location (the first visit was great too!) and I have to say that my expectations were exceeded.
Tonight was ‘date night’ with my 7 yr old high functioning autistic son. Absolutely every point was hit on a shopper’s list with perfection.
I used the website to get on the waiting list. We were promptly checked in and cautioned that they were a little behind but would seat us as soon as possible. We were offered several samples of the flavored lemonade as we waited. Even with the delay, we were seated within the window of time provided.
We ordered an appetizer, meals, drinks, dessert - the works! It was date night, after all. A little splurge was in order.
My only complaint was both steaks were SLIGHTLY overcooked. (I ordered mine rare, came out between rare and medium rare. My son ordered his from the adult menu at medium rare and it came out medium.) The proper offers were made to remake the steaks (no way, both VERY flavorful and we could live with the slight increase in temp) by the runner, server AND manager, as expected. Everything else was PERFECT. I have no doubt if the steaks had come out as expected/preferred, another patron would have sent it back as undercooked - so I can’t honestly complain too much.
Our server, Alexis, was given the difficult task of choosing a bourbon for the old fashioned I ordered. She expressed that she had some bartending & Bourbon knowledge and I asked her to choose for me. I sincerely expected her to choose the ‘safe’ Makers Mark option. Nope. GREAT upsell and knowledge of Bourbon, she chose Woodford. EXCELLENT choice. If I didn’t have to drive home, I would have ordered another.
We were entertained by several calls for ‘YEE-HAW’s’ for various occasions, servers line dancing in the isles, etc. Took me back to very happy memories as a Roasdhouse employee from bygone days.
Overall, if this was an example of how our future visits will go - I will be visiting as frequently as this single mother with two little boys can afford.
Again, my expectations were exceeded on this visit. I sincerely wish I was a shopper and could have given credit where credit is due. Sadly, this review is the best I can do.

Read moreThe last 3 visits to this place has been a complete disappointment. 3 steak dinners left on the table not touched other then cut open. This evening went in for now a 3rd childs birthday to have a nice dinner . How ever same thing as the past 2 times got to the meal part got my steak not even close to what I ordered. I let the waitress know she takes mine and the other steak at the table back because they were both wrong. The manager Mia comes over ask how everything is going sees we don't have our food so she said let me go check on those. Comes back with our food asks us to check it. It was not any different then when we sent it back and she asked what we ordered and apologized that it was wrote wrong. So at this point I was over waiting I had to be somewhere In 20 mins so I didn't have time to send it back for a third time. Both steaks still are wrong mind you. The manager said she was gonna take it off the bill witch she did. But as she is doing so she is talking to the waitress and I hear the waitress say that is definitely what they ordered. So i stepped in and said excuse me that is not true and pretty much not to lie. I wasnt trying to be rude but own ur mistake fix it and move on. Dont blame ur customers bc maybe u misheard or something. So at this point i walk away i sit down.We are at the end of the meal still havnt heard a thing about the birthday [ just like last friday for my daughter and sons birthday never even acknowledged them ] that's the only reason we take them to Texas roadhouse for their birthdays because they enjoy them singing . So they were disappointed aswell. As the girl tonight got nothing. The manager Mia comes back over apologized again said the waitress was trying to get the birthday together. However we already paid was done spent long enough there left hungry disappointed and stressed. I had 20 mins to be somewhere else. I have been beyond excited to finally get a texas roadhouse here in indiana and not drive so far . I have been here 3 times and everytime has been something if not multiple issues. All 3 times with different people so it's not just me being picky. I also forgot to mention not one drink got filled!!! Not sure if I will be returning but if I give it another chance please do better 🙏 Mia the manager was great very professional. I just feel there should have been more than just the 2 steaks takin off the bill after all...
Read moreThis was my first experience going to a Texas Roadhouse . I’m sorry to say it wasn’t what I was hoping for or expected from a steakhouse . I ordered a strip steak well well done with no pink . When the steak came out it had blood pouring out of it . I sent it back and waited too long as the rest of my family ate their entire dinner . When it came back it still wasn’t done and the worse thing is I paid for a strip steak and I didn’t get a strip steak . They gave me a round shaped steak . It had no flavor at all so disappointing . We had ordered an appetizer and drinks . The waitress never returned for refills and so our entire table was dry during our dinner meal . We asked the kitchen staff for refills . The waitress finally returns at the end of the meal to refill drinks . We waited at least 45 min to get a refill on our drinks . It was so irritating to watch the staff line dance when we had been waiting 45 min for a refill . Like come on dance over and refill my drink. The manager came to the table apologizing for the steak fiasco . She comped my meal and gave me a gift card for a return visit . The manager overcompensated for the epic fails of the staff . The most positive thing was the kindness and genuineness of the manager Sarah. She’s deserves a raise . Overall it’s not a place I’m in any hurry...
