If it weren't for all the great experiences I've had here and the quick customer service I almost always get, I'd leave a one star review. However, my most recent experience was so abysmal that I felt obligated to leave this review.
Two nights ago on December 10th, I made an order for a pepperoni mushroom pizza and a caesar salad at around 5pm. I arrived at 5:38 when my pizza was said to be ready. I sat in my car outside the restaurant as I was expecting a carside delivery. Over the course of the next two hours I watched many people come and go, the vast majority shuffling back to their car empty handed. I called the store at 5:50, and was told that my order would be ready shortly. I waited in my car for another hour, and during that period, every single person who had gotten there before me, and almost every single person who'd gotten there after me had left with no pizza.
At 6:50, I made another phone call, not to complain, but just to see what was going on, and got no answer. I decided to walk in after another 40 minutes just to get some sort of update. After the two people in front of me lost patience over their order and left, I waited until I was able to speak to someone. The staff were reluctant to talk to me, which I understand as I saw a couple people in front of me chew them out, which kind of sucked because I don't think any of them had anticipated that night. The phones were ringing, and going unanswered because the few workers who were there were scrambling to get every last pizza out, so there wasn't all that much time for human interaction. I eventually got to talk to one of the employees and they mentioned they were short staffed that night. It made sense, as it looked like there were less than 10 people there.
I finally received my pizza after a whopping 2 hour wait. I mentioned that it came with a caesar salad, which was promptly brought to me. I brought my order home and came to realize two things: one, that it was the worst pizza I'd ever had, and two, that the caesar salad was expired, only by a day though, so I still ate it. The crust was way too thick and mushy, the cheese looked like it had been sitting there for way too long, the topping distribution looked way too rushed and uneven, the pizza was barely sliced, and the whole pizza was basically room temperature.
I can't blame the employees for this, as it seemed like they were all working hard that night and figuring out how to manage the situation. Nobody was happy that night, and many customers walked out empty handed. I just want to know what was going on that night.
I could have literally driven to the domino's in Venice, driven back to Whittier, and gotten my pizza faster than I...
Read moreOct 2,2024 Terrible pie. I used to like ordering a quick pizza online from Dominos. Seems to me they stopped offering the often reliable promotion offers like the 2-topping pizza for $7.99, among other discounts, for the sake of price gouging. I noticed today that a large 3-topping hand tossed was basically $0.50 less than a LG speciality Deluxe pizza, which had at least 3 other toppings included. Approximately the price as the 3-topping NY style Domino's pizza, at $14+ w/tax, but the prices are only based on the limited time offer of 50% off menu prices, which is $26+- without tax and without promotion. What bothered me most was the inflated pricing which is 100% more than it was not too long ago, whereas the Deluve was priced at $26+, but then they reel you in with a promotion lasting only a few days that gives a customer half off the menu price,. With the tax included the the bill came out to $14.87 for the Lg Deluxe, which was the regular menu price no more than 2 years ago. Now for the fun part. I had gotten used to the flavorful crust that made the pizza twice as good, however the flavor was missing from this latest buy. The 5 ingredient pizza seemed like the toppings were rationed, based on the half price promotion. I guess they also give your pizza toppings a 50% reduction. My hand tossed pizza tettered at the edge of becoming a thin crust, with very little peperoni, what looked like 2 sausage links cut into pieces and strewn across a large pizza, thinly sliced, I mean very thin slices of green pepper which was barely noticeable and could have easily been mistaken as cilantro stems, and then tiny curls of onion here and there, and maybe a tablespoon of mushrooms so that each of the 8 slices had at least 1 mushroom showing. After the first slice I realized the pizza was basically dry, and flavorless. Not entirely sure I would come back, much les suggest the restaurant to any friends. Not a good impression at all, Domino's. There is absolutely no way your pizzas are worth the menu price of $27-$28 for a large. I could buy a frozen pizza 3 times less the price of a Domino's and it would have much more flavor than what I got...

When I placed my order, I was told that my food was going to be delivered at 7pm. At 7pm it said that the order was “complete” and to “enjoy the food” insinuating that it was delivered but it was not. I called the store and was on hold for over 24 minutes, so I drove to the store. The manager, Jennifer, answered as I was parking and when I explained my situation - she just said “umm I’m on my break right now” and did not offer any help. I walked inside and the worker said she would not end break for 5 more minutes. I waited and she did not come out. I asked the worker how much longer and he talked to her and she had said “a few more minutes”. Ordering for delivery was a waste. When I was waiting in store the phone was constantly ringing and they did not answer any calls. Jennifer did not have good customer service. The worker offered a free drink to compensate for the inconvenience however the damage was already done. This was the worst experience through Domino’s and I have been ordering from...
