Hooked On Coffee — Restaurant in Whittier

My wife and I have been here twice now. On our first visit, we were greeted by a new hire and the owner. They were both nice. The owner is very friendly. Since it was our first time, she told us how her drinks are different from other places and that they have fresh baked goods daily. I ordered a mint chocolate chip milkshake with boba and a chocolate chip cookie. The shake tasted better than I expected. Well balanced with cream, mint and chocolate chips. More than enough boba to satisfy. The cookie was warm like after pulling them out from the oven for a few minutes. The chips were still soft and a little melted. Yum! As for the seating, it is comfortable and clean.

Last night we came here on our second visit. This time welcomed in by another girl. My wife asked her about another drink and she described it very well that we want to try it on our next visit. This visit we got Thai Tea with boba. My wife ordered it iced. Since it was cold already, I ordered it hot. My wife and I were very happy that we saw that the Thai Tea was made with real brewed Thai Tea. We were happy that the Thai Tea was not powdered or premixed.

My absolute favorite boba cafe in the area! I am a graduate student so I am constantly at different cafes writing papers, hunting for the perfect ambiance, wifi, power outlet, AC, and delicious beverages. Corner place offers a generous size for the price compared to other cafes with a great variety of drink and topping options. I love that it's a small business, they are so kind and personal as I ask for recommendations, I have yet to try a drink I didn't enjoy.

Drinks are less sweet than chains outside (I usually order 30% sweetness level at other places and that's how they make it here)

Boba is more on the soft side, rainbow jelly goes really well with the matcha drinks!

Their hours are 10am-8pm every day and generally quiet on weekdays. Most people order to go so you get the space to yourself or share it with just a couple people

The best coffee in the US I've ever had. Previously, the best coffee I've had has been in other countries. After inquiring about their coffee I found out Corner Place utilizes specialty coffees weekly, that are freshly roasted and freshly ground, ensuring it is not over-roasted which is key in preventing that bitter flavor found from many coffees here in the states.

Corner Place's coffee is very smooth and flavorful all the way through. I'm so impressed with this little coffee house, it's my new favorite place in Whittier.
