When you first walk into this Mexican restaurant you realize right away that it resembles the owner's passion for his homestyle Mexican cuisine!! Yes, cuisine. I have been to many Mexican restaurants, but none have satisfied my appetite like this place. They have a very large variety of plates and although I haven't tried all of them, a majority of them resemble my tia's home cooking from Mexico. If that isn't enough, the tables and seats, although they seem inexpensive, they're comfortable and also remind me of the decorative style my mom had organized her kitchen with when I was a kid. I bring my kids here everytime and hope they can build memories of this place that will always make them feel the same way about family + food. Come and try this place for yourself. The best place in Whittier for Tacos! My favorite are the Asada, Fish, & Al Pastor tacos. Especially with the grilled onions and lemon on top. Absolutely heavenly. The tortillas are also delicious. Very traditional. Not like other places that give you cold tortillas with your tacos. I love them! Also tried their carne asada plate with nopales. So good! I also like the enchiladas, the pasta, the shrimp cocktail, and more. Also they're always very kind and sweet to us when we come in. Feels like we're home when we eat there. Food is good. I had a tasty breakfast burrito. My sister says the menudo is the prize there. Why the 2 stars for the atmosphere you ask, well it was very dark in there someone needs to get some better lighting going and a few decorations to liven up this place a couple of flower pots might do or some colorful table cloths and some good tunes.
