Bibs Ribs — Restaurant in Whittier

I am not usually in the habit of leaving restaurant reviews, but after our lovely experience last night, I feel like I should make an exception!

We had family visiting from overseas who had never tried American BBQ. We showed up here on a whim, not long before closing. The owner was very apologetic that they were out of brisket, and was stoked to hear our visitors' story. A really friendly guy to chat to!

He gave us substantially more food than we paid for (extra sides, extra meat, free drinks). Everyone really enjoyed the food; the ribs were particularly good among the meat, but the real standout was actually the sides. Often BBQ places have quite lacklustre sides, but everything here was much tastier than average. Good mac & cheese, good potato salad, good coleslaw, even the bread was good!

I had to wait almost 15 minutes to get my order taken, i didnt have to wait long to get the food but it did bum me out that i had to wait that long even though there was only 2 other people in the restaurant that had been served already. The food was also okay the beef ribs were on the tougher side and the brisket was good but i wish i would’ve gotten a larger portion for the price. I may give it another chance in the future and hopefully itll be better a 2nd time around. Came by with my son last minute they were almost sold out (says a lot about how amazing there food is) so we grabbed what they had left bbq beef ribs mac and cheese and smoked beans….you guys the food was beyond AMAZING i love bbq but this particular spot 10/10 my son is a picky eater i got him his own plate he devoured the ribs and mac and cheese.
