If a product sells ...then why get rid of it ? The decades menu, namely the tasty tostada, was my primary incentive for eating at TB. I used to eat these things all the time, 3 at a time, and for many years, crunchy tacos too. I would buy the new cantina menu items only as long as the tostada was on the menu. Beans, lettuce, cheese, and a smear of red sauce on the shell, and a very thin tostada shell it is, which BTW, should be thickened like it used to be, because it breaks apart in pieces when it's picked up, anyway that's all that it is, so I doubt that these simple and cheap ingredients costs more to serve to customers than the profits TB takes in from its sales.
With the Tostada, along with the introduction of the Enchirito many years ago, TB first discontinued both items, along with the famous green sauce, maybe 8 years ago. These are favorite menu items for many customers. The tostada sold on the value menu for around $0.99 back then, and for a long time, and lately it sold for $2.39 once they brought it back in October 2024, before once again being discontinued today by the TB higher-ups, (fools !) I guess a markup of 139% on the tostada wasn't good enough a profit for corporate to consider twice. As you can surmise, the tostada was a TB favorite of mine. The only other place that served a similar but better type preparation of food consisting of hard shell tacos and tasty quality beef/bean burritos, among other local fan favorite menu items, was a place called Taco Quickie, located in Southeast LA, which was 100% better and tastier thsn TB,.everything on the menu was awesome, even the hot sauce, which was better sipped out of the small cup than it was poured on the food. However, TQ never expanded, or franchised out, and finally closed its last remaining location, out of 3 total, around 4 years ago, after being in business since 1967. Now, I have little to no incentive to go to TB for a meal. I wish somebody would start another similar fast food chain that sells this style of Mex/Amer marinated ground beef tacos and burritos, and of course one who stays consistent and loyal to their menu items, which would compete with TB for customer share. Del Taco just doesn't cut it for me. Anybody have any...
Read moreCame today to buy 12 tacos and didn’t have enough to pay for my order. the manager of this Taco Bell decided that just because she thought my debit card was a gift card, that she wasn’t going to refund my money. What? You can’t refund me because you think my card is a gift card... (and this is the manager we are talking about) she refused to give me my money back. I told her that I wasn’t going to leave without my money all because she can’t figure out how to refund me. I’ve worked in restruants and retail and have never heard of a register unable to process refunds over a negative transaction. Which means this manager was accusing me of ether fraud or she didn’t know what she was doing. After an hour of explaining to her that 1. It wasn’t a gift card 2. She can’t expect me to leave without ether $12 worth of food or my refund and 3. She simply can’t make up policies that don’t make sense just to get customers to give up. An employee from the back come to translate to the manager who I guess wasn’t understanding English that whole time, and explain to her that she can’t keep our money if they are not going to serve us. Finally she understood and refunded us. Now I’m here as a customer looking at manager who should know about return policies, trying to convince me that I can not get my refund because I don’t have enough to pay for my order... why are companies hiring managers who not only don’t know what their doing but try to convince their customers that they are the ones at wrong? Never coming back and telling everyone not to come here because they might leave without their money and...
Read moreI cannot believe the ignorance of the Taco Bell corporate mindset. It is announced on 8/28/25, that once again they're bringing back the Decades menu ...GREAT !, but why not bring back the TOSTADA, which is priced more than the taco ...and hasn't any meat inside, surely from a profit perspective you'd think. They should make the Tostada part of the everyday menu, as it once was. Also, they've talked about reintroducing the Enchirito, at least it was suggested as such on social media articles last year. As if TB already having too many species of tacos on the menu isn't enough...they want to add yet two more taco varieties through the latest announced Decades menu. Let's be honest, these promotipns are simply corporate scams in order to boost a particular company earnings profits in a given quarter. If they were actually intent on a commitment to customer satisfaction; then they should advertise these promotions up the kazoo, and keep these items on the menu for at least one year, if not forever, but as usual they say they'll keep the promotion running as long as supplies last, (whaaat, then order more) usually no more than 3 months, in the hopes that customers will return only to find out the promotion is over, and wind spending their hard earned money on the standard old menu.Bring back the Tostada, and the Enchirito. Now that...
