Not your typical restaurant. Being a self-proclaimed “foodie”, I’m picky about restaurants I recommend. This one is quickly becoming my favorite Go-To Mexican restaurant. It’s only been in business in this location 3 weeks, though the owner’s been in the restaurant business over 30 years, and it feels like you found a hidden gem. All the ornately carved booths are freshly painted, it’s very clean, it has a big back room that can seat larger groups (54) and the friendly staff of this family owned establishment take plenty of time to answer all questions. The owner’s daughter Karina even followed up with my special request for Posole which they agreed to make on the weekend. BTW... It was delicious. About the food: The Hurache has a stiff, dark homemade tortilla shell under all the ingredients (including cactus) made from a special corn they import from Mexico and ground there. We also enjoyed the ribeye steak and especially the mixed veggies. We also liked the burrito Mazatlan (seafood with plenty of ingredients) The Rio bravo burrito has good flavor and comes with guacamole. They have one of the most extensive menus I’ve seen. Queso dip is simple but good. Food comes quickly. I can hardly wait to...
Read more2 tables with people (this includes us). Waitress had a hard time multitasking. Ordered a coke and it was flat. I informed waitress. Instead of fixing it, she asked it I could drink something else. So I ordered water. (A sale lost in soda) My husband asked if he could order a dish he didn’t see on the menu. (With all ingredients they have on the menu. He asked for a bed of rice, Fajita meat with vegetables and white cheese sauce on top. Waitress was very hesitant. I asked her if she could ask the kitchen If they can make this. Figuring since they only had three customers in the entire place this could be accommodated. She came back to say kitchen said they’d only make what’s one the menu! Here’s the thing, there are 100 of Mexican restaurants in town. If you want yours to stand out and have people come back, you go above and beyond for a small request. Food was good! Ordered A bean and beef tostada and a pan fried chicken taco and street tacos. Guacamole was also good. Place is clean...
Read moreWe chose this restaurant because of their 4.5 star rating. Unfortunately, the restaurant management severely understaffed the restaurant with only 2 servers for a full restaurant of at least 50 people.
1.) Instead of waiting to seat our party and give us an expected wait time, we were seated immediately.
2.) We didn’t receive drinks for the first 20 min.
3.) Our Chips and Salsa were not even refilled until 1 hour into waiting for our food, because the server had so many other tables to tend to.
4.) Our drinks have not been refilled once and we’ve been here for over and hour.
5.) Our food didn’t arrive until 1hr 27 min after being seated.
I feel bad for the wait staff, the restaurant should adequately staff their restaurant, especially on weekends, or not seat customers. Once you are seated you except they are ready for you.
We would have been much happier if we were told there would be a 30min wait even before we...
