Golden Chick — Restaurant in Wichita

First time. It was busy. 5 minutes to place order-not bad. 20 minutes to get order. Manager checked after 10 min-since they were busy, it didn't bother me.

During my 20 minute wait, 4-5 orders were wrong, most from the drive thru. Can't imagine an entire day's worth

An employee took a table some missed food(tenders?). During this, the manager was going to as well but was told it was done. The issue? He had the tenders in a container and put then back in the serving stack. Yuck. Is that appropriate?

Menu: seems basic and bland. My chicken sandwich only had sauce and pickles. NOTHING else. Every other place I've seen let's you add garnish. I got the Mac as a side. It was a very small serving-not enough for a 2 yr old. The sign says all combos come with xyz-inculding a roll. Apparently my combo didn't The chicken was good and thick 3.5 stars. The Mac tasted 3.5 (of 4) but size was a 1.5 of 4. The roll (asst. Manager gave me one) was a 2-tasted like a grocery story roll they buy in bulk and then jack the price. The staff was professional ans polite 4 of 4 stars even tho they were very busy. Pricing was a bit high Menu was limited 2.5 of 4 stars

Will I go back? When they are this busy, no. Will I go back in a couple months? Yes. I want to try other items. But the prices and serving size is a turn off.

Have been waiting for things to quiet down to try Golden Chick. My bf found an opportunity to go in this evening. I was excited to have a chicken place in my corner of town/neighborhood. So I was a bit disappointed after all the build up. The fried chicken was ok. The roasted chicken had good flavor, but was a bit dry. I had the fries & they were crispy for the most part, but skimpy serving. The homemade rolls were way too sweet tasting for my taste. but they were fresh and soft.

My bf felt the same way about the chicken. He had the mashed potatoes and gravy and said the potatoes were obviously instant and kind of bland (but creamier than KFC's). He said the white gravy was very good. He didn't get the sauces he ordered, nor did we get utensils or napkins. Seriously, you're serving fried chicken... and no napkins??? Potatoes and gravy and no utensils?? Do better GC!!

Wait time was too long, but was expected considering the newness hasn't worn off yet. One huge plus was a kind and considerate employee who helped my bf get the food out to his car, as he's in a cast and on crutches. Here's hoping the food improves with time and experience.

The chicken is not evenly seasoned, the chicken strips are not seasoned at all. The sides are less than, literally all of the sides are less than. The rolls were under cooked, and a little doughy, and way way way too much yeast they really need to figure out the correct measurements. I also asked for gravy and never got that even though gravy or sauce was supposed to come with my meal. I completely understand it was opening day, and it was crazy, but the fact that my card was charged $65.00 on a meal that was $53 and some change and I still paid extra cash cause I was told there was a remaining balance left. Is why I left a bad review . I am from Texas and I was so happy, and excited to have a Texas chain come here. I honestly can say it tastes nothing like the Texas locations, which I was prepared for but to out right rob your customers is complete b.s. I will never recommend anyone to go here unless I hate them ALL OF THE FOOD WAS SUBPAR! and they either don't know their system or just like to ROB their customers! I will go back to figure out why my card was charged so much more than my family's meal, but other than that I will...
