I first came here at the end of 2023. I ordered the volcano fried rice with chicken on my first visit. The food WAS amazing. The rice was perfectly cooked with some caramelized bits mixed in which gave it a perfect texture contrast as well as that sweet maillard goodness. The only downside was that the chicken had been a little under seasoned and over cooked. Still, this had been the most amazing fried rice I had ever tried and I absolutely wanted this to be the last meal I had if I ever left Wichita. Over the next few months I came back again and again. The overcooked chicken on my first visit had been a fluke. The curry fried rice with combo meat became my go to and over the course of my visits I had the spicy tuna roll, a eel roll. All of those very good. Something has changed recently. A couple of visits ago, I was eating with my room mate and I overhead a conversation about the mural painted on the restaurant and heard it being described as having been painted by "a former cook". I had noticed that the food on that particular visit hadn't been as good. Most of the elements were there, but there was very little caramelization on the rice, which added so much flavor to the dish. I chocked it up, to a new cook still learning. The next visit, the soda fountain was gone. Meaning that I had to spend more money to get less hydrated while enjoying the meal. The rice did not improve back to how amazing it had been and the eel roll had become a significant downgrade. Instead of having a mix of vegetables to compliment and add flavor to the eel. it was now a whole bunch of rice, very little eel and a very liberal application of panko or tempura crumbs all over roll. It was pretty bad. My latest visit was very disappointing. I had my boyfriend visiting from out of town and I had been talking up the rice ever since I had it. I ordered my usual advising him to avoid the sushi and brought my own water bottle so I wouldn't have to order a drink there. The fried rice was absolutely a downgrade. There was no more cramelization and it was under seasoned. I had to salt it myself and even then it wasn't close to how good it had been. Whatever is happening, I sure wish it would stop. I'm sure I'm being harsher than I would have been since I adored the Hibachi Boy before, I just wish it could go back to how great it was.

The service has, for the most part been great. The manager is friendly and is always polite, even when busy. Wait times are reasonable. I only wish the food had remained as amazing as it had been on my...

Not impressed Staff was too unenthusiastic for a first timer and felt the need to clean the 1 dirty table over maybe offering me some insight to the menu or recommending options. Another customer walked in after me, and the chef in the back happened to know her so she got a personal greeting - which I get - but the cashier still didn’t come back to the register with 2 people in line and an empty dining area.

Ordered filet and chicken hibachi and couple sushi rolls. Worst hibachi I’ve ever had in the city. Tasted like they only used salt n pepper to season the beef and fried rice. Noodles were sticky and over cooked - had they told me it came half noodles n rice, I would’ve opted for just rice. Veggies were almost non existent and bland. Don’t even get me started on the couple tidbits they tossed it after I paid extra - and tipped cash ontop of my order.. I don’t even know what to say haha it was all disappointing and the sushi was worst than grocery store sushi I’ve had

Mainly gets the 2 stars for the music they had playing while I waited. But definitely not worth...

I was super excited to try this place since everytime we come to town they are closed or about to close!! So you can imagine my excitement when they were still open, and I was able to place a to go order( being it was almost 8pm and they close at 9pm ) ...... well at least you would think 🤔 😏 🙄 so I tried to order on line, was having issues trying to order, called the restaurant instead to ask questions and make sure I was getting the right food placed and was told they STOP taking to go orders AND WALK IN ORDERS AT 8PM.... WHAT??!?!?!?!?! WHY BE OPEN TIL 9PM IF YOU DON'T TAKE ORDERS AFTER 8PM?!?! THATS CRAZY AF!!! 🤪 😳 😕 ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS TO STAY OPEN TIL 9PM AND NOT TAKE ORDERS OR SELL ANY FOOD AFTER 8PM!!!! I LITERALLY HAD AN ORDER FOR $85 BUCKS.... WELL THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME KEEP MY MONEY IN MY POCKET!!! I WILL NEVER TRY/ORDER/ OR RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT THIS IS ABSOLUTELY OBSURD AND DISAPPOINTING!!! OBVIOUSLY THEY DONT NEED OUR BUSINESS, MAYBE THEY HAVE A SIDE HUSSLE GOING THROUGH HERE...

We ordered the bang bang shrimp & chicken. Spring rolls, Avocado roll, cali 10 roll, shrimp tempura roll, kids chicken hibachi, & a side of bean sprouts. The bang bang is soooo delicious we went back the next day. But they give more noodles & rice than shrimp & chicken. The noodles & rice are kinda bland too. The next day I subbed for vegetables & will do that moving forward. The spring rolls are good. The kids hibachi was good quality & quantity. The sushi was just okay. But they put 2 rolls in the same container & I didnt like that because it was for 2 different ppl. Beans sprouts were absolutely not worth it. You only get a very small portion for $3. The 1st day the asian cashier didnt greet me or help me for about 5mins even tho he was at the sushi bar & watched me walk in. The next day it was a different cashier with curly hair he was nice & greeted me immediately & let me know he'd be a minute.

It was my 1st visit to this location as I normally visit the Derby location and Ordered the 2 @ chicken teriyaki and added beef, shrimp, and extra veggies and picked up after work on my way home on 9.13.23 m. It was a 30 minute drive. Got home and the beef was charred, chicken was dry and crunchy, and we didn’t receive extra veggies that I paid for. The rice, noodles, veggies, and shrimp were acceptable. I called to let the restaurant know of the issue and was told o would get a call the next day. I never received a call so I called tonight and the manager offered an appetizer even though I had to throw away the most expensive part of the dish. $40.64 I will say the gal that took my order over the phone and the gal that worked the register when I went in to pick up my order was nice and professional. We won’t go back and waste our money at this location.

It was a nice little restaurant. My wife and kids wanted to try it. It was pretty good. I think I will give it another try. I *think* it was called Sweet & Spicy Chicken, and it was pretty good. I could be wrong. Either way, the chicken was super crunchy! I love crunchy chicken and it was loaded with garlic, but not overpowering. The rice was good as well. The noodles were okay, not bad. I was wanting a little bit bigger/fatter noodles. Again, a good place to try, and I will be back. Maybe try a different dish, but if not, I was pretty happy with what we got.
