I just heard about this place a few days ago in the local newspaper. I visited today for lunch and had the Mixed Grill which included One Tawook, one Tikka and one Kofta over a hefty bed of rice, Fattoush salad, hummus and pita bread. It was easily enough to make 2 meals. The quality and taste were excellent. I will definitely be returning soon! They weren't that busy for lunch but I understand it gets busier around dinner time. They are open 7 days a week from 11 a.m. to around 9 p.m. The location is tucked behind the ACE Cash Express so it doesn't have good exposure from 21st Street. I hope this restaurant is successful and hangs around long enough for more people to find out about it! Best of luck!!!
Went back again on 1/20/24 and had the Lamb Gyro and fattoush salad. Pic is attached.
3/13/25 Just stopped in for the buffet. Everything...
Read moreI have ate at Meddys, N and J Cafe, and here Kabaji is the most authentic. The Arabic coffee is Fire!!! Will wake you up!! You might wanna add sugar as it is STRONG!!! Not for little kids The lamb chops were like Jannah . The meat came right off the bone and they were pretty big pieces(3 to be exact) The rice had some spice in it that made my eyes roll back. The staff were friendly and quick. They guy even said " are you sure you don't want sugar with the coffee??" It is strong!!! If you eat here and close your eyes you can hear oud music playing and hear...
Read moreI wish I would have taken a picture before we dug in but the dishes are very generous. My husband and I wanted a light shareable meal. We ordered the falafel and the mixed kabobs, and ended up taking some home.
The rice was spiced very well, with just the perfect amount of heat. The meat was cooked and spiced to perfection. The hummus was decent, but not the star of the show. The falafel was great. The salad was dressed, and very flavorful. Iraqi bread served with, and it was a great meal that we enjoyed with prompt, accurate, and polite service.
The price was great for what you get. This is definitely a hole in the wall Gem that all foodies strive for...
