Deshi Curry Wichita — Restaurant in Wichita

That's the $7 plus taxes chicken biriyani they give here in that photo I have posted. I was a regular customer here and they used to be not bad budget restaurant. But now, in short, cheap in quality and in quantity as you can see from the photo itself and also cheap in courtesy. Do not go here if you want to try good food. Okay if you need more details continue to read. I bought this to go order and found this tiny chicken pieces but it used to be better. I used to ignore the shortcomings in taste but quantity was ok, like proper chicken pieces not this "bits and pieces". I drove back and showed them this, they told me "We can give extra pieces. But we don't do that usually". So he's saying I drove all the way back from my apartment to get some extra pieces of this stale and below par chicken. Insulting my pride, I asked him to take the food back and give back the money but this guy is not willing to do that but says I have to have food, no policy of giving back money. I kept the food there itself and lost my money let him "have" it and they lost not one but more than one regular customers. I do not recommend going to this good for...

Tonight was a disaster. They closed for a while, at least a couple weeks. Turns out they have a new owner who did a facelift on the dining room.

Unfortunately, that is not the only thing they changed. I have been obsessed with their butter chicken for months and have been there 2x per month for several months now.

The butter chicken and garlic naan I ordered tonight was horrible, the chicken is weird, the sauce is thick and chunky with a weird flavor, even the garlic naan is different and no good. We got home with the food only to realize they forgot the rice, my husband went back to get it and when he got home it was the seasoned yellow rice, not the plain white basmati rice they had previously included with the butter chicken.

I tried to eat, it is just terrible. An awful chicken texture that disenegrates in your mouth, with the chunky sauce, the weird naan, and the incorrect rice. Anyone have any recommendations for other restaurants that have butter chicken, this was enough to never go back to Deshi, for butter chicken of their chicken biryani that we frequently purchased over the last 10...

Went here on a whim with a small party. The greeting upon arrival was warm and the seating arrangement is comfortable. We got to sit right under the TV providing the atmospheric ambience. Lovely music and videos. The volume was perfect you could hear it and as we talked it faded gently into our background. The 2 appetizers we ordered were both delicious the garlic naan bread was fresh and made to order. Perfectly complementing the entrees we chose 3 and the staff was both attentive when we needed and simultaneously not just hovering so we could relax. They were also very accommodating when we ordered slightly out of order we originally forgot to ask for naan bread. Then for our dessert they offered us a 3 piece portion of the gulab jamun so we each had a piece, it originally comes with 2 so that small courtesy is greatly appreciated.
