China One (New China King) — Restaurant in Wichita

I've spent so much money in this place. I won't spend another dime.

I ordered the double sweet and sour chicken the other day in a big order that was nearly $50. It came with a large thing of chicken but only one sweet and sour sauce and one rice. If it's double the chicken everything else should be doubled. So I asked my aide to get me more. She tried to get it today and they sent a tiny cup for like dipping. It was nearly $5 just for those two things. I called them and explained she had left and I needed a bigger one. So I could enjoy the food.

I'll remember that next time. So I don't buy the bigger chicken again. What's the point of having chicken, if you have no rice or sauce? I didn't say that all to him. Even though I'm pretty sure it's supposed to come with double everything and the whole deficit was their fault anyway.

I explained my aide came up there to get it and they gave her the wrong one. He started yelling at me and insisted I paid for the smaller one. Idk I only got the CC receipt not an actual itemized receipt. Either way I was trying to explain it wasn't me and I can't get up there myself. He just kept yelling at me that I should have paid for the big one if I wanted. I said I won't order from there anymore and hung up crying. I'm just so tired of people honestly. There was no reason to be so rude. Especially when I'm pretty sure they messed up the first time. This is my favorite Chinese food place but after this and the incident with their other location. They tried to charge a dollar for a few shakes of curry powder. $0.10 or even $0.25 would be an acceptable cost. Not a dollar. You can get an entire bottle for a dollar at the store. I could put it on myself but it cooks in better if they do it while frying the noodles. They charge the same price for Singapore rice noodles and they have curry seasoning and all the meats and shrimp in it but they want to charge a dollar for that when it's in the other for the same price?

They are both just really cheap and try to nickle and dime people for their mistakes. I love the food and tell everyone how awesome this location is but after this incident I'm done with both. No amount of good food saves poopy behavior. Treat your customers with the same respect they are showing you. Even if you don't agree. No reason...

The food was extremely disappointing. Moving from Houston to Wichita recently, my family knows good Chinese food. China One is not that. The fried rice was nothing more than white rice steamed with onions and chicken broth with some chicken added into the mix… really? The Kung Pao chicken was something like General Tao’s chicken with bell peppers, celery and carrot in an unspectacular sauce of some sort. The hot and sour soup was actually good. Unfortunately, the wonton soup could not carry that flag. The broth was good, but the wontons were, let’s say… unusual and odd tasting. In to plus column, the spring rolls were good. In general, I would not recommend China One if your expectation is to have delicious Chinese American food. If your tastes are not so particular, then have at it...

I ordered to go. Front staff seemed nice and welcoming. Food came out quick. Price point matched other local fast food Chinese places. The food: The crab rangoon only had a teaspoon of filling in it. They were so flat when I got them, I assumed all the filling leaked out, but no, this was an intentional small amount. I was really disappointed since I ordered 2 orders of eight. The Beef Ho Fun was plentiful, but lots or large sliced white onions and a little amount of thin slices of beef. Flavor was okay, very one note. No wok char taste at all. Tried the HK Chow Mein since there are not many options for it in Wichita and was disappointed. The sauce and noodles were pretty thick. Sauce was a bit too salty.
