On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina — Restaurant in Wichita

Usually a great place to eat but Sunday was different. First we wanted to sit on the patio, they said it was too cold even though it's inclosed and then we wanted to sit at the big table in the bar but they really didn't want us too but then finally agreed. We asked for a high chair and they brought out a booster seat. The high chair they brought after was too short so we had to move tables. Then I ordered a mango peach margarita and the lady acted like I asked for her child or something. She explained they didn't have that. Well I explained the other location made it and asked so they have mango and peach, she said yes so I asked what's the problem? So after 20 min or so I went to the bar and ordered it myself, but before I could I had to stand there more than 5 min because the bartender was mia.i don't think she was 21. Actually I don't think any of the staff was when the drunk came it was on the rocks but I ordered frozen, once again this upset the waitress. So we order and I ask for the stuffed peppers for an appetizer before dinner she said ok. When she brought more chips and salsa I asked about the peppers and she barked they got to cook them!! So you know when they came, that's right with dinner. The portions were small, the drink didn't have the proper amount of alcohol in them, very weak, and after she delivered our did we didn't she her again until the check came. Every employee we dealt with was rude. If I could tell the owner one thing I would tell him is a bad idea to let children run your business. I watched a group of 6 walk out after waiting to be seated over 10 min. Another group came in 20 min after us and had drinks before us and food before us and left before us. We was there an hr before we ordered and 40 min more before we got drinks and still another 45 before we ate. If they was packed I would understand but the was only 4 tables of people. There was a lot of confusion about how the food was supposed to come out it was corrected the waitress was not informed by whoever the other lady was that came to our table but she gladly fixed it it seems like she had a little bit of an attitude but she was still very polite. She refilled the drinks a couple of times and then the restaurant got very busy and after that it seems like she forgot about us. We ended up having to get the manager to come over to give us bags and drink refills. The waitress didn't bother to even clear the table as you can see in the picture below. The manager was walking by and cleared one of the sets of dishes so I then took the other set from the back of the table and put it to the edge of the table and even though the waitress walked by numerous times she's still never took it. Looked at me no numerous times looked at my cousin numerous times I don't know if we pissed her off I don't know what the deal was but we were told one thing by one lady and then another thing by our way just but like I said in the beginning she very happily fixed it I don't know what was said you know when she left her table but we very rarely saw her throughout the the time we were there and that ruined the experience. Now because of the mix of the manager did give us 20% off of our meal at which we truly appreciated it was just I guess the fact that we had to keep asking somebody else for things because our waitress hardly ever came back. Now again like I said it was very busy and I can understand but when you're at a table right next to us and you look at us you just didn't want to come back I don't care...

My husband and I ate here on 12/15/18 at around 9 pm and I got really bad (toilet painting) diarrhea. I wish I could give zero stars. The quality of this place has really gone down hill. When we arrived there were several tables which hadn't been cleared and garbage all over the floor and under the tables. We were greeted by a nonchalant hostess that seemed to be somewhere else. We were seated and we placed a drink order and were given chips and salsa and offered yellow or white queso, I chose yellow. The queso had pico de gallo in it that tasted a bit off. We were served a basket of chip crumbs that had a few whole chips placed on top to cleverly disguise the crumbs underneath. As we were eating a women who was bussing tables kept walking past us swinging the dirty towel, in a circle, that she was busing tables with. When our main dishes arrived (I ordered the Ultimate Fajita Platter) I was served a skewer of three undercooked shrimp (it was still gray and translucent) that was placed on top of my other fajita meat, the portions of meat were hilarious, four two inch thin strips of steak (which were super chewy and tasteless) and four two inch thin pieces of chicken, along with shredded pork, poorly cooked uncarmalized onion, three one inch pieces of sad looking limp bell peppers, and a lot of large chunks of zucchini. I informed the waiter the shrimp was not cooked and it had to be sent back twice before it came back properly cooked. I think sending it back upset whomever was cooking because the second time it came back with unidentifiable pieces of things all over it. Overall a very very poor...
