The Lordโs Dinner on several occasions has told me there are no dogs allowed in the building. The first time this happened, I was standing in line inside, with my animal. He was under control, and we were waiting. The security guard approached and told us there were no dogs allowed under any circumstances, I asked about service dogs, he said no to that as well. I attempted to inform him that I was allowed by law, and that we were only picking up food. A manager came over and told us no dogs, and when I told her it was a service dog, I was told that he was not a service dog based on her opinion. She brought me food to go and told me not to return with the dog. I was agitated, and so my dog began indicating we needed to leave. As she handed me the food my dog blocked her, something he is trained to do if I am overwhelmed, and I used a hand signal to both sit him down and quiet him. Despite this, she repeated that he was not a service dog and that I should not return with him. The second time was similar, we were outside, and I asked if I could have someone hand or bring me a plat to do as they did not allow service dogs. They refused. I was told earlier in the week to ask someone at the door to bring food if I was ever with the dog. The second and third time were the same, I asked for food with the dog, and they said I would need to tie the dog outside or leave him somewhere and come back (they were under the impression I was homeless). On one occasion a security guard threatened to mace me for asking questions about policy and for asking about their camera system. He had pushed me out the door and pulled his mace, to get me to leave. In the first phone call I was told there were no cameras in the lobby or outside by which to view the interaction, yet there are. I was told the staff said I threw food around the lobby, but I had dropped it on the way out in the commotion, and I was also told to contact a lawyer, when I asked if there was a way to resolve this or get an apology for the violation of the law and my rights.
They are also one of the main reasons there is styrofoam everywhere downtown. As a member of the Catholic church, I can say this place operates more as a business, than a true charity that I would send someone in need to,...
ย ย ย Read moreDowntown one is absolutely amazing and the one in Plainview is too when the right people are volunteering. The lady with the baseball cap, and glasses who runs it most of the time, is absolutely rude and thinks she's better than everyone. If you want her to come to your table and complain about everything your kids do I would not recommend going to that location. The downtown one on Broadway are amazing with kids, and doesn't mind them being children unless they get in the was or is disturbing others. Someone needs to get the lady in Plainview under control or she does not need to be volunteering. Volunteering at a place like that you need to be understanding and caring and nice. She is neither of those. I've seen her kick someone out over a shirt they wore, if they can't afford to feed themselves then what makes you think they can afford...

He had surgery nov 2017 so he uses walker. Son had 6 surgeries since 3months old. I was told he cant be with the people that has walkers wheelchairs. He said my son injured his self that they dont let people in that area if they are injured only disabled. My son knees he didnt injure them he was born with knee caps dislocate so doctors fixed them. Plus its rude and disrespectful to try to get so rude and try to judge people. I seen a guy have injuries to his foot but nothing said to him. They rather have my son stand in a long line knowing he cant stand or walk far. Also my son is disabled and get treated like that. Cops are way nicer at the...
