We just checked out of this location. The hotel was clean and the staff was nice. That was the extent of the positive experiences for us.
The room had a very small fridge, not great lighting in the room itself and the worst was the bed.
We stayed for four days and the bed was so firm it felt like we were sleeping on the floor. My partner likes a firmer bed but he even said the bed was horrible. The AC was also kind of a nightmare. It worked but only blew in one spot. It was so hot lying in the bed. The circulation of the air felt like it was not there.
Also, if you are expecting a free breakfast. Not the place. It wasnt included in our room and it was $18 a person for the buffet. For that much money, I expected better tasting food. It was extremely bland.
The location wasn’t terrible. It was close to a Quik Trip and local businesses. They have a parking garage for the hotel but it costs extra. $5 a day and you have to pay every time you enter the garage. There is a huge transient presence near the hotel and a lot of them hang at the entrance of the garage. We saw a grown man change his own diaper right in front of the ticket booth to get into the garage.
They do have on site items to purchase near the front desk for food and beverages; however, the prices are astronomical. A bottle of Smart water was $8. A 6 pack of liter Smart water bottles from a grocery store is $11. Total rip off.
Out of desperation our first night to have a cold drink (because the tap water was always luke warm) we attempted to buy the cheapest drink item which was still about $3-4 (I attempted to get a 12 ounce can of dr pepper that was $3) the check out computer was wobbling on the counter and kept glitching to where we couldnt even use it. So we gave up and went to target and got some drinks to stick in the fridge.

Read moreI would not stay here again. M&Ms, pill, almonds on floor and built in seatings had remnants of food particals. Wasn't told how Breakfast was at checkin or about amenities. Was told about parking but parking ticket wouldn't open parking gate. I used my points for room didn't know I didn't get breakfast. I got my points from staying at Home2suites in KC while husband was sick with cancer, and you need lots of points to get free room. My husband then passed and a week an a half later I took my daughter on a one night get away. Room service charged high tip automatically, but the food was excellent. Asked for late checkout -- was approved 30 extra minutes, all good till I tried to get back in room just before 12, late checkout was 12:30. She keyed my card before I left for activity, went to room not worked, went down stairs got rekeyed, tried again didn't work, had to wait for someone to open room then felt like I had done something wrong, the maids didn't communicate with front desk would just smile and tell me to go back downstairs-they were talking with their supervisor? Brands usually treat Gold members or members better because members are committing to the brand. I have stayed at many different places and in large cities Denver, KC, and more from Hiltons, BW, and other brands and stays this year at hotels...
Read moreCAUTION: Barn doors in bathroom. Room design very poor.
Staff is generally friendly and the entire place is clean, appointed appropriately for a hotel of their status/price point. However, the barn door on the bathroom is a deal breaker for me and I will likely never go back. Hotels put the barn doors everywhere because they are cheap and trendy, but they are a terrible design choice for a bathroom as they do not lock, seal, etc., and allow scents, sounds, and all kinds of unsavoriness all over the room. Recently stayed here and woke up to the smell of sewer as the toilet was approx. 8ft from my head as I slept. No one had pooped in the room at any point, and still very unsavory. Also, they pull the classic trick of using the most complex thermostat possible so it is exceedingly difficult to lower/raise the temperature of the room. A cheap trick for a relatively premium hotel line in my opinion. Further, many rooms are located in the inside of the building so they offer 0 natural lighting, which is fairly important in a room with 0 ceiling lighting and lackluster lamps.
It's clean, location is good, staff is fairly helpful, and feels almost upscale for Wichita, so I can't give it a terrible star review, but my recommendation would probably be to...
