My sister and I went there at 4 pm. The place had diners spread throughout the restaurant.. We went to the West Central location. It was not busy. Just people enjoying themselves. We got seated fast. On the west side, in a booth against a window. We both like that because of being able to watch the football game on. I don't know what our server name was. Because she didn't have it on her name tag. And she didn't tell us either. We had pop. Then my sister had sir fried and salad. I had roasted Turkey dinner. Which was one side. So I paid extra for us both having salads. I got mashed potatoes as my side. The server left after taking our order. We were in no hurry. As we were talking about things. And in no rush at all. A few minutes later. Our salads came. A good-sized salad dish. We asked for extra dressing because you don't know how much they will put on them The salads were great. But, a couple of minutes later, she was coming with our main dishes. I told her. Hey, you just brought out the salads to us. Then, you want to do this? I told her to take them back. As I was not going to have our food get cold on us. We were eating and talking. Remember, no rush. I was not going to have her. Rush us. We are the customers. So, when we were ready. I wave at her to give them. I had to send my back. The mashed potatoes were lukewarm. I hate that and expect them to be hot and smoking. So, I told her to heat them up more. So, my sister food was hot. So, a couple of minutes later. Here she comes with my hot food. She kept my water and our pop glasses full. She was a great waitress. But that one thing. My sister got chocolate pie. I got lemon. I believe in giving more than what is required for the tip. If the service is outstanding. So I gave her 25% tip.
It is a great location to eat at. And very...
Read moreHere is an update. We are thru with Village Inn at this location. Today we eat there and as usual nobody recognizes our senior discount. I'm 67 now and the Wife is 84. A new guy at the register, I noticed the waitress did not put the discount on our receipt, so I was paying at the register. I knew he did not put the discount on and I am betting the company tells them not to give us the discount without asking. POOR BUSINESS. He says the price and I said is that with the senior discount. So he figures that up and I am at the age the we had to do our math in our head or on a piece of paper. So I knew something was wrong. I looked at the receipt. 87 cent discount. I asked how much is the senior discount now, he is speechless (Don't know) and the lady says its now 5%. Still did not get the 5%. They would be better off just saying they don't recognize seniors any more then to be that Cheap. I am betting a lot of Seniors will disprove like I have. I always get the chopped steak meal. Its pretty good with a nice size piece of beef. I can buy better beef at YB meats for 1/3rd that price. Here's my older review. On same topic. The wife and I have been going here for over 6 yrs. off and on. The last 6 months a couple times a week. The dressed up guy with the red hair and tie gets on my nerves. I am 66 and wife is 84. Clearly seniors. I have told this guy over and over again we are seniors at the register. One time kidding. I said we are still seniors and will be from now on. But this guy keeps ringing us up with no discount. Never asks how the meal was or anything like that. Poor customer relations. But the food is good and the price is good, so we keep going but I hate to have to deal with this...
Read moreMy wife and I both had breakfast . She had a French toast meal and I had a ultimate breakfast with 3 pancakes. She didn't say anything and just ate the food that was brought out for her while I was enjoying the ultimate breakfast. As I get to the pancakes excited and ready I pour the syrup over a couple of the pancakes and it pours out like water. I looked over at my wife and she said it's watered down really bad but I could still taist the syrup. So I tried it. It was terrible and Ruined the pancakes for me. I took 2 bites and pushed it to the side. When the waitress came over I told her the syrup was almost straight water and I couldn't eat the pancakes like that. She replied as she picked up the plates and said I could have changed it out for you. You should have said something. ( OK IN MY MIND I JUST DID) I set there and let my wife finish her food. Decided I was still hungry so I asked for a pie to go. No sorry from the waitress for the completely watered down syrup. So the wife finished up and we went on to pay. As we were paying the manager asked how was everything? Everything was good except for the watered down syrup was my reply. She replied we could have changed out the syrup for you. I just replied back that's what the waitress said. Paid the 40 dollars for the food and without a sorry that your syrup was so watered down, she very Sarcastically said have a blessed day. My question is why are they watering down the syrup anyway? Wow just crazy that it cost 40 dollars to eat breakfast for 2 people and you have to put water...
