I always go for the lo mein as a standard and Westsiders rejoice!!! I got the Shrimp Lomein, combo fried rice and hot and sour soup! The Shrimp omen has one of the best flavors of light garlic pan noodles and sautéed yet crisp veggies and lastly I can’t tell you how amazing the many succulent shrimp that came with it was! The combo fried rice was very good but I like savory and just had to add a hint more umami and it would have been perfect! Again the detail on the proteins on how they are cooked may vary but all of the varieties of meat like, chicken, beef, pork, and shrimp, were all so soft and tender…so yummy!!! My girl devoured the hot and sour soup! I had a couple bites as that was only left and it was, like E.B. stated, one of the best around. It had bits of egg, white and wood ear mushroom and bits of tofu, in a savory and slightly sour soup. The hot was not as present and it also came with some won ton chips fried to drop in for texture lovers! My girl agreed as well that everything was very good! I only live less than a mile away and I will be frequenting this spot...
Read moreI've been looking for a decent Chinese restaurant, and this place more than fits the bill. The food is cooked fresh and, more importantly, cooked to perfection. They even went so far as to flavor the broccoli; it's slight, but I could taste it. My entire meal was perfectly crisp, perfectly cooked, and it all tasted amazing. This is a rarity for me these days, so I can't give this location enough praise.
Regarding value, I would say you're getting a pretty good deal. I ordered the #4 combo and received more than enough food to fill me up for a listed price of $9.95 plus $1 for a bottle of water. The food tasted better than over 50% of the Chinese places I've been to in Wichita. Overall, I would recommend Vo's Kitchen to anyone craving Chinese takeout that's cooked right and reasonably priced. 11/10.
My only real critique is that the sesame chicken was a little sweeter than I prefer, but eating it with the rice solved that issue. Chinese takeout usually has strong,...
Read moreThis area was in need of a restaurant like this. Clean and modern interior. Digital menu board is nice. You can see the clean and orderly kitchen so you know they care about quality. I got the #3, General Chicken. The food came out fast and was so hot I nearly burned my tongue! Just how I like it. The chicken was crispy, sweet, and spicy. No fake red dye. Textbook fried rice with good garlic flavor and hot and crispy fried egg/spring roll. The crab rangoon was fresh made. It is the triangle shape i live vs the freeze burned diamond shaped ones most places use. I recommend if you want some great takeout on the upper west side of Wichita, this is...
