If you’re ever in Wickenburg, Arizona, do yourself a favor and make a beeline for the Horseshoe Café! Walking through the front door feels like stepping into a time machine—right back to the heart of the Old West. From the charming western décor to the warm hospitality, this place captures the laid-back spirit of a bygone era. We stopped in for breakfast and were absolutely blown away. The portions? Let’s just say they’re cowboy-sized—generous, hearty, and clearly made with care. Every bite was flavorful and satisfying, and the western-style preparation gave everything an authentic, home-cooked taste you just can’t find in chain restaurants. The service was just as impressive—friendly, fast, and genuinely welcoming. It felt like we were part of the family from the moment we sat down. Whether you’re passing through or making a special trip, the Horseshoe Café is a must-visit. It’s not just a meal—it’s a western experience you won’t forget. Hats off to this local gem!

Dara, our server, was very friendly and helpful, she took great care of us! The dining room is small and cozy with about 12 - 15 tables. Although it could use a fresh coat of paint, it was clean. While pancakes aren't my preference, I couldn't help but to include a pic of a regular, single pancake, it overlaps the plate on all sides. My 2 egg omelet with chorizo, mushroom, onion and American cheese was the Best omelet I've ever had. Accompanied by spicy home fries with chilies, an English muffin topped with a side of delicious, smooth, thick sausage gravy. George changed it up a bit with a 2 egg omelet with ham, mushroom, onion and pepper jack cheese, hash browns and English muffin. Both omelets were filled high and end to end, our milks came out cold and with the food. Restrooms are in the back and very small, but clean enough. We'll definitely be back.

Horseshoe Cafe has a cozy, small-town feel with home-style cooking. The breakfast burrito was a standout. A generous portions and tasty combination of eggs, cheese, and chorizo. The spicy homefries were good on the side. The Rustlers Sandwich was a satisfying option too with generous portion and robust flavors. Would surely recommend. Would drop a star since the cook was not wearing a hair net. Found a strand of what looked like hair in the sour cream! Update: they did acknowledge the comment and commit to address the concern!

Okay, so I've waited a week to actually post a review so here it goes. Last week I stopped in on a recommendation claiming that this place, out of the entire state of Arizona, had the best biscuits and gravy. I love biscuits and gravy so naturally I had to give it a go. I drove almost an hour from Phoenix and found this quaint little Wickenburg Cafe. I arrived about a half hour after they opened so there weren't very many people there, opened the menu and saw that they came in half servings or full. When the waitress arrived I simply told her that I would like to try out the biscuits and gravy, not really knowing which portion she would bring. What arrived was an average sized plate stacked high. The gravy was thick and had large chunks of sausage and the biscuits had a slight crunch, just right for the amount of gravy enveloping them. Me being 6 foot 3 and about 250 pounds it seemed that the waitress had deemed me a worthy opponent of a full serving, until a few minutes later the state trooper behind me was served a platter twice the size of mine. Apparently I was given a half serving and I was stuffed. Being a Las Vegas native I can say this for sure. These are the best that you can get anywhere that I have tried in anyplace that I have ever been. I spent the rest of the week thinking about them and was determined to return for the full plate. One week later, there I was with all the biscuits and gravy one man can handle. I conquered the plate, but just to be sure, I ordered a half plate to go because gas is expensive and I can't go there as much as I would like to. Arrived at 7:30 and the place was almost packed. By the time I was leaving there were no tables available. Get there early. Don't take my word for it. You have to try it to believe it, but seriously, they definitely have THE best biscuits and gravy anywhere. I definitely recommend stopping in and...

Came to dine in for some lunch with my 5 year old son. Ordered my sons food and my food. Took quite a while for us to get our food. Saw many people finish their food and saw quite a few tables cleaned/cleared off before we were served. My mom is in love with the reuben sandwich at the horseshoe Cafe. So that's what I ordered for myself, with a side of onion rings. My son was on a rant about a grill cheese with bacon inside, with a side of fries. My son got a couple fries in and one bite of his sandwich. He hardly ate much of his food really, before I had the urge to go to the bathroom. I set some money on the table, so that it wouldn't appear that we left without paying. Took my son with me to the bathroom. We were away from the table no more the 5 minutes tops. When we came back out. The table was cleared. And cleaned off. I asked the woman who served us (didn't know her name for she wasn't wearing a name tag) what happened with the food cause we only got up to go to the bathroom. And I explained I didn't want it to look like we just took off without paying. I saw that the server was quite upset. She offered to make a new sandwich. And my son was already quite upset over his food being gone. I could've stayed and had a new sandwich made for my son. But while he was crying and upset. I chose to just get my change from the server, tipped her and left. It was a frustrating situation. My son has been on a rant since we left about how his food was taken away. I wish our server was more observant cause if she had my son could've enjoyed his meal. But instead the server assumed we just left and over tipped. My sons plate was mostly full when we went to the bathroom. And it went straight to the trashcan the second we left to go to...

I had a visit to Wickenburg, and I wasn't about to hit Anita's again, as decent as that place may be. So, of the several I looked at, I picked DHC.

Prompt, great service, and fast delivery of my food. Quite possibly the best traditional breakfast I've ever had. I'm that weirdo that asks for the potatoes and toast to be burnt, hoping they'll come out nice and crisp. Well, the cook listened, LOL! Just what the doctor ordered. Damn fine chicken-fried steak, and gravy dripping off of the side of the platter. Not stingy at all. And fast? Wow....I was surprised.

I love to support family-owned/run shops whenever possible. In speaking with Ms. Deb, it's quite obvious the Cafe is an institution there in town. I noted several other customers were addressed by name, and given some 'love', other than the food. Nice, very nice.

Now, the ONE downside....as I know some folks may have an issue with it. I don't, but could certainly understand those who do. There's a fly problem on the corner where the Cafe is located. City dumpsters placed to close. Yes, the little buggers are inside...mostly trying to get out. So, seat yourself away from the windows, or....use the napkins to shield your plates and condiments, as I did. Remember, they don't eat much anyway...and you get plenty of food.

11/20/21 Visit numba two, with same breakfast. Same excellent quality, portion, value and family service. ...
