We went to see the Disturbed / In this Moment show on Saturday, 5 Oct 19
We got to the venue about a 1/2 hour early, for a 730p start. We were able to park early and quickly - after paying the $10 parking fee of course. The parking lot is honestly the only source of complaint; see my thoughts below when leaving.
Through the security stations efficiently; 1 out side that was a walk through metal detector and bag check and 1 just inside front doors that employs a wand.
Crowded, but that's what's expected & hoped for with a show like this. Not sold out though, so there was still available seating. Food & drink prices are reasonable for this event. Some quality local beer at only 10$ for a 12oz+ draft is a good deal. Plenty of food if you desire, but we ate before we got there. Biggest and longest lines were for the Concert SWAG stuff - as is usual for a music show.
I won't say it didn't exist, but we don't see or experience any instances of bad behavior from any of the concert goers.... Not sure if that's a tribute to the fan base - I think so - or a well organized & operated see security staff - which certainly plays a role. Visible, but not overwhelming or obnoxious police presence.
Great show! The venue isn't really suited for music shows, acoustically, but enough volume sometimes can over come the poor sound character of a place. Hit/Miss here in that respect.
Comfortable enough seating & environment. I found arena staff to be helpful enough and courteous. Overall, not a bad seat in the place.
Once the show was over, we were able to get out of the facility quickly and into the parking lot.
Once out side and into the parking lot, headed home is where the facility drops the ball! The lot is really poorly marked. There are some light poles that have a sign on them, but these aren't lit very effectively or highlighted to be of any real help. If you don't have a good idea of where you're parked, you're going to spend some time wandering. And if the weather is bad, it will be miserable. BE SURE YOU KNOW WHERE YOU'RE PARKED WHEN YOU ARRIVE AND ORIENTATE YOURSELF BEFORE YOU ENTER THE ARENA!! Probably, you parked when it was still light outside, but you'll most likely be leaving when it's dark. For all the money taken in as parking fees, this shouldn't be such an issue. I'm usually pretty good about finding my car, but here it's typically challenging for even me.
My suggestion to the management: label /mark the aisles and spaces. A label at either end of the rows and a spot number would fix this issue.
It would also be a terrific customer service concept to have some lot mechanical help that travels around, especially after a show. A golf cart would allow a lot of mobility. I'm sure more than one attending patron had an issue with their vehicle when they were leaving. Just a thought Mohegan!!
Overall, a positive experience. Looking forward to the upcoming...
Read moreAttended the money grab of a ceremony that was the "Penn-Foster Graduation" (They made 60k on tickets alone this year for an online school, just for this one region) Upon entering, we had issues trying to set up our seats as we had multiple handicapped people in our group and one person to help each one, which is allowed. Well when we finally got approved to have 6 people sit together along the handicapped bar (they claimed they didn't know how full it would get despite tickets being bought, there was plenty of room in the end btw) another gentleman comes along and threatened to call security on my fiancee because he insisted on moving the chairs for our family since he approached us rudely. The man then made me tell my fiancee to let go of the chairs as per their "insurance" or whatever policy-type excuse he gave me. But my toddler leaning over these painted-over rusty bars is safe? Also, everything at concession was crazy high as you'd expect but it wasn't even good. Popcorn was stale AND burnt on the bottom half where you couldn't see, and drinks were way small. The stadium is outdated, seats are all oddball mismatched, there's so much just falling apart about this stadium. It was also very muggy and hot in the stadium and I have breathing issues and of course even though we were plenty early and the event hadn't started, I was not allowed to leave or else I wouldn't be allowed in. I also knew this rule when I was leaving but of course as soon as we left the building my toddler had to use the restroom, which is right across from the door I was at, and I begged him to just let us come and go, I'd leave my things with him as collateral. Nope, he'd rather let a toddler have an accident on a hot summer day surrounded by people. Well, my toddlers piss is seeping into your garden now muchachos. Really, you can just check tickets when people come back in, maybe do punches and people can only go out 1-3 times if that's the issue with too many in and out but man, either get the mold out of the building or let people breathe!!! Kids were getting sick and throwing up even! You don't wanna go somewhere where they can't get the food...
Read moreI've been to my fair share of arenas and I regret to say that this one is low on my list of favorites, which is a shame since it's fairly local for me. The good... It's very convenient to I-81, literally less than a mile from the exit ramp. It's not huge, so you really don't get a bad seat. We have been there many times, but this last time we were there for a Penguin's hockey game and we were in the 213 section. We could see everything quite well and were very happy with our seats even though they were "high up".
A couple of the reasons I knocked two stars off are as follows; There was a severe rainstorm when we arrived and when we finally got to the entrance we were told we can't bring in my fanny pack. Now, I have no problem with not being allowed to bring in a purse or whatever, but something there should have warned us before we got to the door! It would be easy to put signs up at the gate on the way in and I would have gladly left my fanny pack in my trunk. I had no reason to have viewed their website because I had tickets in my hand, which were given to me. We were drenched enough to begin with, then the trip back to the car was absolutely bone chilling in the cold rain. Once inside, the seats were pretty tight together and the arena is kind of looking unkempt and tired. I've been to arenas recently that look a lot cleaner and better kept. The bathrooms were okay, but the hand dryers were blowing cold air, which was a bummer in my cold, wet state. I think the worst part was the lines for the food. It wasn't a sold out house, yet I waited 20 minutes on line for a pretzel and two cups of hot tea. This was because everything people ordered was coming out of the back kitchen each order took forever. Even the tea took a long time because they use a simple Keurig machine to produce hot water. It wouldn't be so bad to wait that long, but the crowds were pressing in and crisscrossing the lines to the point of what felt like claustrophobic bedlam. Yeah I sound cranky and I guess I am. It wasn't the best experience. You can look at my other reviews and see that I'm usually pretty positive, but this place was just...
