Best al pastor around, hands down. I've been 3 times since my last review and I always order a bunch of tacos. Friendly service, the previous reviews regarding their customer service have been amended in my experience. I just tried their new Birria Tacos which hold a very special place in my heart, but mannn $9.99 for 3 tiny tacos with hardly any meat in them. They were good, but they really need to put more meat in all of their tacos. Still giving them 5 stars as my favorite place is 40 minutes away so Pepe still takes the cake. Edit: The two times since this review that I've been back I've been given tacos with the wrong meat. I only order al pastor and don't like roast beef, once I made it home before realizing me and my family's 12 tacos were all the bland roast beef (barbacoa) so I had to drive back to exchange them out (20 minute drive). The next time I went through the drive thru with my father and specifically ordered Al Pastor and said it as clearly as I could as to not repeat my last experience, but as soon as I got the tacos (I knew to check before leaving this time) sure enough they were barbacoa again. I was polite as I could be and told him that I didn't order this damn bland meat and he argued with me that I did. Dude told me he was busy and got whiny with me insisting that I ordered barbacoa even after I reminded him that it happened the time before which was the reason I checked. Afterwards he was less accusatory and told me to come in to order since the mic sucks, but that was a annoyingly frustrating experience and I will not be returning even if the food is the best I can get without having to drive 35+ minutes. Fix your speaker/ mic, you can't hear me and I can't hear you.

Pretty good little taco shop. Like so many of them in Texas, Taqueria Pepe is in a gas station. There is seating for about 8 to 10 people. Most people get their tacos to go. Food is fresh because this is a very busy station. We both had the 3 taco special (three tacos, rice and beans). We tried carne guisada, barbacoa, chicken, el pastor pork. The pork was the only well flavored meat that could stand alone. The other meats/taco flavors really needed the lime and salsas to complete them.

$10 for all this!!! Well there were 2 other tacos but I ate them. 😁Amazing. Only wish there was a regular salsa option as I wasn't a fan of the ones provided. But that's just me personally. They double the tortillas so they don't break when eating. Fresh and delicious barbacoa tacos. Will be back again, and again.

Delicious breakfast burritos! Tortillas are homemade. This place is a hidden gem and I love coming here while I'm in the area. This place is located inside a gas station but don't let that discourage you. Literally some of the best food at a reasonable price. Absolutely worth going too! Highly recommend

EDIT: 6/4/2024 9:00am - 11:00am time frame - Went for my weekly breakfast burrito routine. Went in to place order like normal. They only had one burrito ready so they packaged that one and had to make another( i normally get potato and egg or egg and beans) paid for my order and went to the restroom while the other burrito was being made. As soon as i came back from restroom i go to the counter and noticed my order On the counter, just to make sure i wanted to see if it was mine just in case they already called my name while i was in the restroom. Immediately when i tried to look at the bag a younger Lady from around the corner yelled " CAN YOU WAIT!!!???" in a extremely rude manner mentioning someone is still making my burrito. I said i'm just checking if this is my order since i went to the restroom? Don't want to take anyone elses food? Didn't get an apology or any response back really. another lady handed my food to me. (not the case of a language barrier btw) Personally I'm really big on customer service and I understand not everyone has it. Its quite essential for anyone in business to have especially in seeking a successful one. Perhaps a coaching or a training on how to approach and talk to people. Tone and Delivery in the way you speak goes along way. On That note food is still delicious but service varies depending on who is working so be weary of that. Service rating has...

We travel a lot down I20 and always stop at this place to grab a bite. The food and prices are very fair, but the service can be a hit or miss. Well, on this day, we really got the miss. The service sucked badly, like I mean bad. We went in there a few days back and there was this lady that was at the register taking orders and I had asked for a breakfast burrito and if some items were extra that I would gladly pay the difference. The woman rolled her eyes and started crossing her hands and saying, "No, no, no"(in Spanish). "You can only get this blah blah blah." I just turned and walked away from her. I have no idea what i said wrong to her in spanish, i just let her know that if something was extra that i would gladly pay the extra charge. But the food is amazing, I won't lie and prices are very reasonable as well. It's just the service that is a hit or miss. That I can promise you. It's a shame that cause of her service a group of about 20 construction workers will never go back to this place and we have been going there for aleast a year now when we work on I20...
