99 Restaurants — Restaurant in Wilmington

It took a couple minutes for the waitress to come and get my drink order and even longer for the iced tea to arrive it only took less than 5 minutes for my meal to arrive which to me was on the smaller side I ordered a hot buttered lobster roll which was mostly claw meat and not a lot of butter and there was no seasoning whatsoever it was just plain and it should have been served with more butter. I put some salt on it and the pepper grinder was not working so I grabbed one off another table and then I went to put ketchup on my French fries and the ketchup was empty so I grabbed the ketchup from the other table and I got a couple squirts out of it. All the while I was looking for the waitress to pass by but she was really busy. When she came to check on me I only had two bites left of the whole meal. I asked her for a napkin and I explained about both ketchups being empty and the pepper not working and that definitely the lobster roll was very bland and it should have been served with more butter but she really didn't have much to say. And she never brought me a napkin so I ran to the restroom to wash my hands. I paid my bill which to me was way too much for a lobster roll french fries and coleslaw and iced tea it was almost $36 the dinner was $29.99 and like I said it was mostly claw meat which is a lot softer it's not meaty like the lobster tail. Oh well. I sat down at 4:06 p.m. my bill was printed at 4:35 p.m. I was done eating at 4:26 p.m. so basically I went there had a meal I was in and out...

First let me say that I’ve always had a good meal at the 99 restaurant in Wilmington, ma. Last week I ordered the baked haddock and it was terrible. Extremely dry and overcooked, had no taste and was all in pieces. Looked like they just dropped it on the plate. I had rice and corn with it, both of which always tastes great but both were cold. I didn’t send it back which was my mistake. When the waitress came over to clear our plates, she saw that most of it was still in my plate and asked if I wanted to take it home. At that point I told her it was extremely dry and overcooked so obvious I wasn’t taking it home. She took the plates away and came back with our bill. Was great, past two experiences have been awful. At one, none of the food we ordered (apps and entrees) were made right. They were extremely overcooked and just plain had the wrong items on them. Everyone has a bad night here and there, I gave them a second chance. Last night the restaurant was evacuated as it filled with smoke, (the fire dept did not arrive, unknown if they were called) we went back in and was offered our food to go, because of the stench we couldn't eat there. I was handed a bill for the full amount, not even the drinks (non alcoholic) we couldn't finish were comped, our to-go food was on the server's ticket, so we still had to tip from it, there was no apology.
