The Real McCoy — Restaurant in Wilmington

Was a frequent customer almost a decade ago, then I moved out of state. Now back working in Wilmington, I was happy to see this place re-opened with Mike as the owner.

Finally stopped in for lunch on Tuesday. Service was excellent; the place was clean. I had a cheeseburger club and now I regret it, because I should not be having such things and it was perfect! There aren’t many places that do a traditional club sandwich these days so it was a nice treat. Burger was cooked as I ordered, everything was fresh, especially the fries.

EDIT 03/17. 2nd visit since the re-opening. Fast and friendly service, the place was clean.

Today I had the chicken finger basket. I subbed the fries for onion rings. I almost choked when the plate was put in front of me, it was a mountain of food.

The onion rings were very good, a huge portion and not greasy, just the way I like them.

The chicken fingers were so large I was a little leary. But wow was I proven wrong. I’m assuming they are fresh; as there was not an inkling of frozen chicken taste/texture. Huge, but still tender and juicy. Did I mention huge? I could only eat 2. My son will be happy when I get home from work tonight, as I brought home more than half the meal for him.

I ordered take out . Basic eggs Benedict. With well done home fries. What i got was a surprise when i paid . 15 dollars for basic Benedict? Then I see bacon(which is fine I paid for it clearly but definitely not what I asked for) I also asked for well done home fries that come with it. Well there were some well done home fries... small blackened pieces of whatever they may be. The rest of the homefries were essentially seasoned slight cooked raw diced potatoes. Im sorry but if ur making home fries for tons of people there is a way to make sure the outside is crispy and the inside is actually cooked. 15 bucks for this slop is incredible. Go to reds tavern in Salem or even better any Dennys can get this order correct. Then when I called to say hey this isn't what I ordered the lady argued with me till I repeated my exact order . Then she wanted me to talk to someone else... on my lunch break. I understand that industry is busy and tough but so is mine and I dont make excuses for screw ups. Do better I would not recommend this...
