LOVED the atmosphere of this place and the best part was that it was dog friendly. We were happily unwinding, having our second drink and had our two labradors after a day visiting UNC Wilmington with our daughter. Another couple came in with their dog (also a very cute Lab). Our dogs started to bark A LOT and we were mortified (we know they were loud at first). So we quieted them with treats and the other owners decided to walk away with their dog. The family then came back about 10 min later. With several tables, FAR away from our table open, they sat the couple with their dog right beside us (I'll remind you, they tried once and mysteriously disappeared and reappeared RIGHT beside us 10 min later). This couple seemed very nice but didn't seem to see any issue with this arrangement. We tried to introduce the dogs and they lunged at each other, my dog going to them and their dog showed teeth and aggression. No one seemed concerned so since I felt uncomfortable, I left with my dogs and left my husband at the table to pay. These things happen with dogs but it felt weird that our dogs were wagging their tails, happy with other patrons and children with zero issues until this couple and their dog came into the picture. I was pretty annoyed that we were there first with zero issues yet no one felt compelled to move the couple to the VERY open tables a little further away from us that would eliminate the issue altogether. All dogs were guilty here folks, but no one made any attempts to move the new couple back, making everyone involved happy (including all the other customers). I walked out on the walkway upset but calm, mumbling that I wished they would have handled that differently, but in no way did I imply I needed intervention. I just wanted to leave. The manager then came out and asked if I needed a free app or something but her demeanor was so passive aggressive reiterating that there was nothing she could do and what if they had reservations for those other tables?.. and that "that's just business sometimes" (can I remind you that we were fine, we were there long before the couple was, people were petting our dogs, including small children and there were MANY tables open further away with no reservations clearly on any book?) No, I'm in business and this is not how business works folks. (Well, maybe in the South?) Interestingly, we were the only non-white family in the joint (we are bi-ethnic) and somehow, we were expected to accommodate the new table with the equally annoying dog (the one who showed teeth and lunged at our dog). So, if you have dogs and may not be white, you may want to reconsider. You could be mistaken as the "more bad dog" family (oh, did I mention, labradors? SO mean I'm telling you). Welcome to North Carolina folks! When you're welcome,...
Read moreVisited for the first time on vacation. The food and drinks were great. When it came time to pay no printed bill was presented. After being told the total verbally and paying with a 20% tip I started to calculate the bill and realized it was higher than it should have been. When I questioned it, the server spoke with the manager and the bill was $24 more than it should have been. They said it’s been happening a lot, the bill just being higher than it should be for no known reason. They are adjusting my credit card, however the tip of 20% is still being calculated on the inflated bill and not being adjusted to the correct bill. Definitely worth a visit but make sure to ask for a printed bill and review before paying. Edit: The owner contacted me on my Yelp review saying it was an issue with their internet. The whole situation seems sketchy. He also was insulting saying that I was complaining over 48 cents. 20% of $24 is a lot more than 48 cents. Also, they calculate their automatic tip feature on the total bill including tax which is not customary. Since you cannot see the bill, aren't shown a detailed summary either printed or otherwise, it is difficult to see this. The waitress reviewed my bill with me prior to giving me the total. She said she "wanted to be sure my bill was super accurate". I find it odd that if she was able to accurately list every item that I ordered without any extras, the bill would suddenly be $24 more than it should have been. Coincidentally, $24 is the exact cost of 2 cocktails. I would request a printed bill prior to paying. I think this happens a lot and they don't plan on people questioning the bill or adding it up after the fact. Bad business stealing...
Read moreManager was quite rude . I explained how it was busy and we could not make it to our reservation in time after we were explained it would a 2 hours wait and the wait was only 1 hour. Once upon arrival the associate explained she would be Able to seat us after the fire works show. After the show was over the manager explained we would not be able to be seated after their associate did give us wrong information. I was not hostile and i explained that the customer service was poor . And that his associate that he pays for gave us incorrect information and as he did not apologize fr the inconvenience he blamed it on our mistake. The manager did not know how to handle conflict resolution and it was clear they needed more training pertaining to how to deal with conflict. He began to tell me I was being hostile as I was explaining the misinformation his employees he has chose to hire had provided . No responsibility was taken for the lack of accountability of his employees mistakes. While I understand mistakes happen as a manager you should know how to handle situation like this in a better manner so the customer is satisfied. I would recommend further training for your manager as I run a business of 30 employees with over 500+ people coming in monthly. I would advise the management team take a deep look at how they hire to handle to day to day operations. As the person they currently have in that position is incompetent of handling conflict resolution and handing the mistakes of the employees. I would advice further training for your manager as these issue may occur in the future and they should know how to properly handle these type of...
