China King — Restaurant in Wilmington

While at work, 4 of us wanted Chinese Food. One of the girls that work in the office recommended China King. We placed the following order:

1. Chicken and broccoli lunch special with house fried rice and an egg roll (Cash order)
2. Sesame Shrimp lunch special with pork fried rice and an egg roll (Cash order)
3. Shrimp lo mein lunch special with pork fried rice and an egg roll (cash order)
4. Shrimp lo mein lunch special with pork fried rice and an egg roll with two orders of crab rangoon with a 20 ounce of Orange Soda. (Credit card order)

Our designated driver went and picked up the order as they stated that they do not deliver to the Edgemoor section of Wilmington. While he was there- they stated that they lost the credit card information and we spent about 15 minutes arguing with them regarding them losing the information. When he arrived back with the food- half the order was missing. We called and explained to them and after about 7 minutes on the phone they offered to deliver it to our office. It took about 40 minutes for the other half of the meals to be delivered. While eating- metal shavings were found in one of the shrimp lo mein. I also ordered the shrimp lo mein and I will be investigating each piece prior to consumption as I do not want to get sick.

The woman who answers the phone and takes the order is very difficult to understand and does not fully comprehend english. My recommendation is not to order from here.

The food is mediocre and there are much better Chinese restaurants in the hood...

I ordered from them yesterday. I happened to be in the neighborhood and wasn't far from my location at all. It took them over an hour to deliver. I had to call them after about 56 minutes and when I did, the person I spoke to said they were on their way. They called back 5-10 minutes later and asked what I ordered. Once the delivery person arrived, he wasn't informed that I paid by card (which of course they didn't hesitate to charge) so I had to stand there for another 3 or 4 minutes waiting for him to confirm that I paid by card. They didn't even have the right slip for me to sign by card & tip and quite frankly I wasn't going to tip after such poor service. I ordered sweet & sour shrimp. The shrimp was as expected but the white rice that came with it was soggy/undercooked. Definitely wasn't a good experience. I won't be ordering from them again if I'm ever in the area. Many Chinese American Restaurants offer the same products but it's the preparation and delivery that suffered in...

The food was OK... The chicken wings were smallest I have ever seen in my life... Literally the size of a kids pinky finger... Not too much sauce on the chicken.. asked for ketchup and bbq sauce...they literally put a drop on it... Pizza rolls were ok... I mean its no way to mess those up... Egg rolls didnt seem too fresh though.. we trashed it because it didnt taste right... The lomein noodles were a little fresh...they tasted alright... The general and sesame chicken was a little hard but edible... The rice was just ok... Basically this is just an OK restaurant...the 3 stars is only because the chicken was so small and not worth the price at all.. it was a huge price increase so I would expect better sized or at least edible... But I dont know if I would recommend this place.. but maybe I caught them...
