The server was more focused on talking politics with one table than anything else. I don't mind people discussing politics but calling people offensive names for not backing one side or the other. There were only 3 tables being served and it didn't get any busier during my visit. Home fries were cold, omelette was burned and had the wrong cheese. She asked 3 times what kind of toast I'd like and I asked for wheat..I got white instead. Maybe if she focused on taking the orders instead of barking about politics she'd be able to keep a one person order straight. Avoid at any and all costs, I will never return. Very unwelcoming environment.

I had a wonderful New England Breakfast at Country Chef Restaurant. The portions are substantial, and my Denver omelette was exceptionally delicious – the eggs were perfectly soft and full of flavor, and the home fries were equally tasty. The buttered toast with three jelly options was a nice touch. Everyone in our party was very satisfied with their meals, and the restaurant has a lovely, cozy ambiance. Highly recommend checking it out!

Country Chef in Wilmington is a solid go-to for a hearty breakfast or lunch. The atmosphere is classic diner-style—nothing fancy, but it’s clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The staff is friendly and attentive, and service is usually quick, even during busy times.

The menu has a great selection of breakfast staples and diner favorites. I had the corned beef hash with eggs and home fries—everything was cooked just right and came out hot. Portions are generous, so you definitely won’t leave hungry. Coffee is solid and always kept full.

Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that while everything was good, it wasn’t particularly standout or unique—but that’s not a knock. If you’re looking for dependable, well-made comfort food in a relaxed setting, Country Chef delivers exactly that. Definitely worth a visit if you're...

First time here at the Country Chef Restaurant, unfortunately our experience was tarnished by incredibly slow service. It took nearly 30 minutes for our order to be taken. By the time our orders were taken the restaurant was out of the first three items I attempted to order from the menu. It was a tough first impression.

This is clearly a beloved local breakfast place. The staff seemed to their patrons. Seating here consisted of booths and four top tables.

Food was tasty, although my order came out wrong. I informed my server and they said, "well, I told them, it's not my fault because I wrote it down." Our server then took the step to show me they had written down my order correctly. It was a very strange interaction.

My son enjoyed his pancakes.

The food portions were large. We...

I live in Wilmington so I'm happy to support local establishments. I've been here before with no issues, but this past weekend was the last time I'll eat here. Our server could not have been less interested in waiting on us. She walked away while we were still giving her the order, and she was so unfriendly that we were afraid to ask for a few extra napkins. My wife ordered water to drink, which came in a Poland Springs bottle that we were charged for, and I ordered a "McMuffin" sandwich which came on the thinnest and soggiest English muffin possible. The bill for two adults and two kids came to over $50 which is outrageous for the food and service we received. Too bad, because there aren't a lot of restaurants in Wilmington...
