The Wilmington at the Ristuccia Arena is what some people call it. The rink is pretty decent but definitely lost some edge to it since the Boston Bruins left town. The rink served as the Boston Bruins practice facility for years I think even decades. Back in 2010's I would always attend development camp and on my days off I would always catch a practice. It was fun to see how the Bruins practice so close up at a normal rink. Obviously Warrior is closer to Boston but the hole that this rink has from the Bruins leaving has a long lasting affect on them. The rink is pretty clean, locker rooms are normal with clean benches and nice showers. The ice surface is well taken care of. The only thing that annoyed me was the rink staff. I'm not sure if it's still the same rink staff currently but there were two individuals I didn't like. The much older guy, clean cut with grey hair in the proshop would always say to me "Getting the figure skates sharpen today?" I didn't mind the joke ment for a 9 year old but one time he dropped my skate on the ground, took a huge chunk out the stock blade. I watched him drop the skate to the ground and he denied it nor ever said sorry. I was pretty mad. I didnt ask for a refund but I called him out on it. I replaced the stock blades with new custom blades. That was on my reebok goalies. I had a pair of Bauer skates I decided to bring to Ristucci to get sharpen while I was at a Bruins practice. This time it was this young nerdy glasses wearing zamboni driver. The guy looked like Bill Haverchuck from Freaks & Geeks. I asked the guy for a 3/8 cut on my skates. He replied to me saying "That's too sharp." The guy looked at me like I was stupid and I didn't get why. Told me pros don't even use that size. Just because you drive a zamboni & work at a rink doesn't mean you are an expert in hockey or skates. I obviously took my skates and didn't get them sharpen there. Overall good rink with a decent proshops but I question some of their workers attitudes...
Read moreA bit off the highesy and beaten path but well marked and easy to find. 1 rink with adequate parking though the lot is a bit torn up. Small pro shop with skate sharpening inside (the gentleman working it was very helpful). Heated front entrance way with a couple of benches for sitting. Stadium seating and very cold rink. No water bubbler for drinking or to fill water bottles, there are vending machines instead. Small rest room that didn't have hot water or a working hand dryer (no hand towel option). No food so plain accordingly, several places close but though. Great location if you want to get any errands done, lots of big name...
Read moreTerrible lighting. This rink has really gone down hill since the Bs used it as their practice rink. I don't understand why management doesn't replace lights over the ice when they burn out or even worse, don't turn them all on when teams are playing. Very dark rink. Only good thing I can say is the ice...
