I really don’t want to write this review… …because I’m selfish and don’t want the lines to get any longer, but Little Loaf is too good not to say nice things about them! This place has become my go-to spot, and I can’t say enough good things about it. Alex makes exceptional coffee - seriously some of the best barista work I’ve experienced. Every drink is crafted with care and tastes perfect. Nic’s cakes are absolutely incredible - true works of art that taste even better than they look. Madison, Ellie, and Emily are always so friendly and professional, whether they’re helping at the register or behind the pastry case. They make every visit pleasant and are great at recommending items based on your preferences. The entire baking team deserves recognition - everything from the fresh bread to the delicate pastries shows real skill and passion. You can taste the quality in every bite, and it’s clear they use excellent ingredients and take the time it takes to make sure everything is exceptional. Little Loaf isn’t just a bakery, it’s a community gem with heart. The combination of exceptional baked goods, expertly crafted drinks, and genuinely caring staff makes this place special. So there, I’ve spilled the secret. Just… maybe don’t all show up at the same time I do? Highly recommend to anyone looking for outstanding baked goods and a warm, welcoming...

First let me say Happy birthday Little loaf! Pull up a seat and let me tell you about my experience with this gem of a find. I went to a farmers market in the spring of 2021. I noticed this line forming and had to see what it was all about. Bread!!! My favorite! I love sourdough so I bought one and also purchased the rosemary sourdough foccacia. Which I was lucky as it was the second to the last one left. The owner was there, she was friendly and just had this light about her. After I left the market, I decided to not wait till I got home, so I sat on the curb, digging into these breads. My taste buds were in heaven! This beautifully hand crafted bread, crusty on the outside light and airy on the inside, loaded with flavor and simply perfect. I hate to admit this, but I didn't advertise how great this bread was, as I wanted it just for myself, selfishly. I have eaten her bread for nearly two years. Fast forward to today, Julia, owner and creator of this bread now has her own store front. Every time I eat her bread or stop and chat for a moment, her light and passion for what she does is palpable. Cheers to you Julia for creating amazing bread, pastries, and creating a wonderful atmosphere at little loaf bakery and...

Little Loaf ILM is truly one of the best bakeries in Wilmington! They recently did a third round of cupcakes inspired by the TV show The Summer I Turned Pretty, this summer, and as a chocolate lover, I couldn’t resist. I knew it might be tricky for me with parking and waiting in line in my wheelchair, but when I reached out, they went above and beyond. They responded with such kindness, sent me an invoice, and are even bringing my order out to my car. That level of thoughtfulness and generosity means so much.

I’ve had their treats before—sometimes friends have gone inside for me since there’s a small step at the entrance—and every time the experience has been wonderful. I hope they consider adding a little ramp one day to make things even easier for wheelchair users, but I’m so grateful for how accommodating and helpful they already are.

The ā€œDave’s Bombā€ is still my all-time favorite, but I’m SO excited to try the new cupcake—cacao is the bean, and that’s where the flavor magic is! šŸ«šŸ§

If you haven’t been, definitely check them out. Great people, incredible desserts, and customer service that makes you...

I guess I went on a bad day. The employees were nice and the place is clean, but the bread left me unhappy. I was charged $12.00 for a small loaf of cinnamon raisin sourdough that's nearly inedible. It's burned on top and bottom and very dense. The crust really hurt my gums when I tried to bite it. My good bread knife even had a hard time. I guess I should have taken the time to inspect the loaf that the girl so hastily threw into my bag, but I trusted them at the time, and being fresh out of chemo, I had a big craving for some good sourdough that I hadn't been able to eat nor had the stamina to make in 6 months so I was just anxious to get the bread home. The country sourdough was better although the crust could be a tiny bit less hard and the bottom was a little burned. Paying that much for bread that won't get eaten makes me really disappointed, and I will have to go back to making my own or I will go back to Freshmarket.

Little Loaf is an absolute gem. I learned that they carefully source much of their flour from Italy, where flour is held to stricter standards and thus often more nutritious and easier to digest. The passion for their product they put out is palpable and I personally cannot overstate how inspiring and needed small businesses like this are in the community. Wilmington is lucky to have Little Loaf! Not to mention they have several gluten free and Vegan options, especially on Friday. There will often be a line out the door, but use this opportunity to chat up some lovely folks. The wait is worth it! the outdoor back patio area is amazing, as is the coffee. I truly wish this establishment the utmost success!

It was so quaint and the staff were very helpful! I’m a novice baker and they gave such great recommendations! We got the honey biscuits and proceeded to devour them in the car! I love how they cater to many different diets and have options for everyone (gluten free, vegan, etc.). We got the Spanish baguette, the focaccia, a vegan Bundt cake, blackberry fruit crumble bar and their special cranberry walnut loaf! I cannot wait to dive in and be in bread heaven! Thank you Little Loaf!
