Iâm not even giving them a 1 star for the drinks and food. My 5 person party enjoyed thoroughly, and even took food to go. Drinks were great. We were really there on a beautiful Saturday afternoon for a cut loose brunch with the girls. / when the first two of us arrived. There was nobody in the entire place. We were preparing for the rest of our party so we walked around as we were told to pick a seat. We chose the rounded table in the back. However to our dismay⌠the CLEANING ladyâs purse jacket and other belongings were at the booth chillin like she was a customer. We asked them and the told us it was the cleaning ladyâs stuff. Presumably, she was not there to party, I started to try to move her things and then this woman came out with the nastiest look on her face like she wanted to fight. Basically told us to find another seat. The cleaning lady came out after we were told to move, with a smirk and grabbed her things and left. That was weird but we still were determined to have a good time. Our server was great. She got tipped extra. But the other staff and owner, were not nice or accommodating. When friends arrived. Our group was happy. Festive and ready to wind down and party. I guess they donât like parties here in this hood barâŚ.. because we asked our beloved waitress to turn up the music and so she did. When we got loose.. the owner came and turned it down. Basically he said we shouldnât enjoy brunch that hard at 3p. Waiting for 60 year olds to come in and thatâs not what weâre doing. We went from jamming to vibing so low key.. it killed our buzz. Which I believe thatâs what they wanted to do so we could leave. The whole vibe of ignorance screamed we donât want you. But they were happy to collect our 500.00 bill.. to which we would have added more if we didnât feel overwhelmingly unwelcomed. Needless to say, we went home and continue our party for free. Our beautiful waitress even understood our plight as she gave us a free shot at the end for all the uncomfortable inconveniences we experienced. People come back. Or they donât. So if you care about your business do better with catering to the clientele thatâs spending. Not the ones who will never come. Can u imagine a 60 year old couple coming to a hood lounge for brunch? You donât even advertise for that age bracket. Cut it out. The interactions alone left a bad taste in our mouths. So as good as the food is. The experience was tasteless to...
Read moreThis was my second time at lounge at eighth for Karaoke đ¤ on a Wednesday night. My first experience was great the food was good but gratuity was added, which was 18% of the bill which I thought was a little high. Our waitress with the first visit was very polite and welcoming, and even though there was gratuity on our bill, we still tipped her based on her service. This waitress during our first visit was the reason why we returned on July 17, 2024.
But this second experience, The with Celine the waitress was horrible. Celine came over to greet us and escorted us to the table. She really didnât seem like she wanted to be at work. We asked her a couple questions about the menu and she explained the different options that we can do for the chicken wings. Despite how knowledgeable she was about the menu, her service didnât fulfill the requirements of a good waitress. After our food came out, the waitress decided that she was hungry doing her shift and she sat in the seat behind us to eat as well. I thought it was really odd that the waitress chose while she was waiting on a table to take a lunch break and there were still things that we needed at that time. If the waitress wanted to take a break, I think she should have had a replacement standing for her to accommodate our needs.
When we asked the waitress where our second order was for the eggrolls, she was upset that we stopped her from eating and she got an attitude instantly. She then proceeded to say that she had given them to us when she bought the bill. She went into the kitchen and surprisingly came back with our order of eggrolls she claimed she had given to us. We were very upset that she charged us for food and then tried to lie and say she had given it to us when we know that we didnât receive it. She didnât provide us with any utensils or even a bag for our to go order which was unprofessional. She then gave us our food for our to go order and stormed off with an attitude. That is very unwelcoming and unprofessional behavior to display especially when it was my girlfriendâs birthday and that was the reason we came out to celebrate. I wish I couldâve gave more stars for the excellent service from the bartender name Promise and the DJ was awesome. Despite our bad experience with the waitress, the bartender and the DJ is what helped with the...
Read moreWonât ever be back again after the security guard with the bald spot put his hands on me (almost pushed me to the floor) and cussed me out because I âwas in his wayâ - mind you there was no fight or anything urgent going on he just wanted to disrespect me and be unnecessarily aggressive to a woman. On top of the excessive cover fees ($20 and u not allowed to reenter) - The service/wait times almost always suck & this is just another grass wall business. I always try to support black businesses, even bring my out of town friends, & give places another chance but this was my third/last time going and is still a very hard no for me. The first two times I went it took 2 hours to get my food and the server was adding random items to the bill. We also got charged full price for drinks during happy hour and she claimed it was because we had specialty drinks that were not included (even though she told us that they were when we ordered them - because WE ASKED) From the extremely high price of drinks to the unprofessionalism and poor vibes you honestly can have a better time in trolley bar hopping and spend half the amount of money. It really takes a lot for me to write a bad review but the owner needs to do some self reflection and evaluation on who he is hiring and how they are conducting themselves in his establishment. I will go to Philly and Baltimore 100 times over before I come back here. The servers are very nice and sweet but management, security, & the bartenders need more training. No way bartenders are leaving the bar to do 3 rounds of Karaoke but itâs taking me 45 minutes to get my drink. The place is just not it. The drinks were a little watered down but the food was okay. Definitely not my first or even...
