This is the best comedy venue in town! Dead Crow brings big city talented comedians to Wilmington. Their comedy shows are very reflective of big city comedy shows too in terms of the structure, length, and ambiance. It’s pretty cool that the comedians typically hang out at the bar after the show to chat with audience members.
Dead Crow is very well managed too. The employees are very friendly and attentive. Their social media team engages well with the community. They display small business charm by truly caring about their customers’ experience.
The actual comedy room is quite large. You can get a good view anywhere in the room. The seating is comfortable with ample leg room. Checking out the event lineup of upcoming headliners and buying tickets are easy to do on their website.
They set up the venue in a smart way because you can still enjoy the bar even if you don’t intend to go to the comedy show. They typically have good drink specials too. I think they should get the word more out there that they’re open for just drinks too…perhaps add “& Bar” to the end of their name?
This truly is one of my favorite entertainment options in town so I’m really rooting for Dead Crow to continue to...
Read moreDead Crow was not easy to find due to its poor signage. I'm talking about walking right past it three times and you still can't find this hole in the wall. This is a dive bar without the bar which tries to produce comedy and sometimes succeeds. I'm from New York where comedy clubs are in vicious competition to survive. I think this place needs some competition as well...and a sign...and maybe a bar. The last comic was good, but he was a ringer and had plenty of television experience. There should have been more like him, but everyone needs to start somewhere...like on a crowded train where people cannot escape your wit. I went with my sister and nephew while visiting as their guest. My sister liked Dead Crow and she cannot understand why it was tepid to my tastes. I am biased because I have hung out with the likes of Robin Williams in the 80's at the China Club. He was FUNNY! Okay, that's an understatement. He was insanely uproarious. Not tepid. Why pay $100 dollars for two to watch a farm team play baseball when you can sit on the first base line at a New York Yankee game for the same money? Where are the Yankees of comedy in Wilmington? Still...
Read moreGreat Vibe, Great Employees, Great Comics! We've been so happy to have such an awesome club to come to in Wilmington. Dead Crow is intimate with a seating capacity of 160 people. Aimee is killing it with the bookings!!! We've seen Bert Kreischer (who stopped in during the middle of his arena tour), Caitlin Peluffo, Rachel Feinstein, Bobcat Goldthwait, Jordan Jensen, & Jesse "Jetski" Johnson in a span of 8 months alone. Some of the biggest names in comedy have performed at Dead Crow when they were coming up, Mark Normand, Tim Dillon, Fortune Feimster, Sam Morrill, Nate Bargatze and many more. The local and regional comics who perform here often are awesome too! Unsolicited advice to those who've never been to a comedy show is 1) Don't talk unless you're asked directly by the comic to do so (everyone paid to see a comedian, not a class clown in the crowd). 2) Comedy is subjective. You may not like certain comics or their style, but the person next to you might. 3) Do your research before seeing a comic if you're easily offended by certain words. Not all comics are dirty,...
