This is a great restaurant with a lot of veggie options. We were staying in Wilmington, dropping off kid at college, and wanted to try out some of the local food and were impressed by many places. This has to be my favourite to date. The staff were super polite, and friendly, holding doors open and smiles galore and no question was stupid! The music, I was told, was chosen by whoever was in charge that night and we got to hear old school rap which was great fun as we sat outside enjoying the sunset. Our server, Chandler (I hope I spelled that correctly) was really nice and helpful. My wife had the Magic Mushroom Soup, which was gloriously thick and creamy (I tried some), and made up with shitake, button and portobello mushrooms. So rich, so yummy. I had the Enlightened Spinach Salad which was so fresh and totally delicious, and filling too. By the time the pizza came we weren't sure we would eat it all. We didn't even though I could have eaten a whole one on my own as it was so freaking good. It was the Holy Shitake Pie. We were definitely going with the mushroom theme of the place! This pizza was beyond good. We ate about half and took the rest back to the airBnB. It was our lunch on our drive back up north and was still excellent cold and a half day old! I have to mention the beer. I am British and have a hard time with American beers, but try local brews. I have to say that the Red Oak something or other. Damn it was great for the end of a hot day. Like I said great place to eat and they have a vegan section to the menu, clearly marked vegetarian food and gluten free options. This is a great place to eat for anyone.

I wish I was exaggerating when I say I waited AN HOUR for my small pizza. I walked into the establishment and placed an order to go around 6:15pm. The hostess told me it would be 15 minutes. I had nothing better to do so I sat down right in front of the hostess stand. 20 minutes go by, nothing. 30 minutes go by, nothing. 40 minutes go by, still nothing. Yes I could have asked the hostesses every 10 minutes about my order but again I need to emphasize I was sitting IN PLAIN SIGHT IN FRONT of the hostess desk. It was the night of the Ironman race so I just thought it was busy. During this time I would see the same servers walking in and out serving their patio tables, people picking up orders and guest coming in for dining. Now we’re at an hour and i ask the hostess is my order is ready and without hesitation she pulls it from the desk warmer. The time was now 7:23. No I didn’t expect them to yell my name like it was a deli but a simple “did you need something? Have you been helped yet? You have been sitting here for an hour, what do you need?” Would have been nice. There was two hostesses there and I had talked to both of them so it’s not like only one person saw me. Besides waiting an hour for a SMALL pizza, the pie was great. I ordered the holy shiitake pie. And HOLY SHIITAKE it was delicious. I wish I could have enjoyed it sooner.

This is a good restaurant! The take-out process was quick and easy, the hostess was welcoming and kind, and our food was exceptional! They provide paper straws, which I really appreciate, and the atmosphere is cool and comfortable. We will absolutely be returning in the near future! 🍕🍪💛 Our second experience wasn’t very good. We placed an order while on the way to the restaurant, and the employees waited until we got inside to pay to tell us that they had no burgers, which was a big part of our order. Could they really not have simply called us back and let us know this before we drove out of our way for nothing? We placed the order 30 minutes prior and I sincerely feel like they just didn’t care enough to let us know. Completely disappointed with the service. 😥

We went to mellow mushroom today. Food was great, service was worse than I have had in a long time. The place was empty, so it isn't like they were too busy to provide decent service. Our server was zombie-like (respectful, but lacked any kind of personality). She messed up a pizza order (overcharged my friend), when she brought plates she didn't bring enough, drink refills were completely forgotten. She forgot 2 people's desserts. I had to ask other staff that was passing by to remove old plates that were piling up, etc. I assumed she was new because of the service, and she didn't know menu ingredients, and she told me they had candles for bdays (they don't - which is whatever I don't really care, but she clearly didn't know many things).

I casually and quietly asked the bartender with glasses that helped bring out our desserts if our waitress was new (because if she was new it would have excused the sub par service in my mind. ) The lady/bartender with the glasses was SO snarky and rude, and said "no she isn't new, we don't do candles, we just don't do that" and walked away... it was shockingly unfriendly and VERY off putting. I probably wont return to this location.

I usually tip around 30%, but that is when it seems like the people actually care about providing service. When the checks were paid and brought back, the original waitress placed them on the table and walked away- didn't even say "Thanks for coming in" or anything.

Seriously, I haven't had service this bad in a really long time. I still left a 10% tip because I know restaurant staff wages are very low in the state, but I would have left 30% if I felt welcomed, if the mistakes that were made were fewer or at least apologized for, and if the attitude of the lady in the glasses wasn't so blatantly disrespectful and rude. Food was great, but service made me lose...

me and my family went to the mellow mushroom in downtown Wilmington,nc. we were there to watch the fireworks this 4th of july and decided to go in and grab food before the show. hostess said it would be 30 mins witch was fine it was decently busy considering the fireworks show and all. it was about 20 mins before we were called and got sat down quickly. that's where it started going downhill. it took 10mins before we were even acknowledged and got a drink order. the waiter looked like he had just rolled outta bed looking sloppy and a mess and acted like he was high out of his mind most of the night, at least the very few times we saw him. we ordered and it took an hour and 20 mins to get our food in that hour we were never offered a refill on our drinks or even told sorry for that wait or anything. i had to ask for refills and he only got me and my sons and didn't even bother with my wifes drink. me and my wife got the steak hoagie and it was subpar at best. it tasted and looked like a grocery store frozen cheese steak kit. not worth 15 bucks. my sons got the mild wings and a small cheese pizza and both of those i will say were really good though the mild wings seemed way hotter than we expected. honestly i don't think you could pay me to go back into that place and try again. it was possibly the worst dinning experience i believe we...
