First and foremost I'd like to say that the selection of on tap beers and wines is impressive. However I have to go in to the negatives of my experience with my husband. When we first walked in we weren't sure how the whole pour your own worked so we opted to sit at the "full service bar" . The girl at the front was very short with us and informed me that we needed a wrist band no matter what. I was surprised that she had such a demeanor from the get go. Second... we sat at the bar and there was no bartender for longer than a few minutes. When he showed up he was polite but when I ordered an old fashioned he looked perplexed and asked me what kind of liquor I wanted !! Even though it's a drink on their signature menu. He followed instructions in front of him out of a book and honestly it tasted poor. My husband ordered a long island which the bartender also had to follow out of the book and contemplated using Malibu rum!!! In a long island ??? So anyhow he doused it in sweet and sour and unfortunately this drink was not great either. We sat for 10 minutes before being asked if we needed another drink ( we had to get his attention ) while he only had us and 2 others at the bar whilst playing on his phone. Sorry but I would not reccomend this place even if you did the pour your own option with the poor customer service. Your bartender should at least know how to make a $14 drink that is on...
Read morePay by the ounce and be your own bartender. The place brings a wide selection of draft beers (sour, Belgian, light, IPA and dark) as well as a very limited selection (about six) wines. The main station is downstairs and another with local NC beers is located on the upper deck of the taproom. Overall pretty reasonable pricing and gives you the ability to taste many different beers before deciding where you want to invest. The wine selection is just there so that your non-beer drinking friends will come along with you so don't get excited about them at all. The Pinot Noir was more like a Zin and thankfully I didn't have to pay for a whole glass. Some really great dark beers - primarily stouts and only one porter at that time. Food was bar like and not the focus of the place but still good and not overpriced for what you get. The play the typical bar trivia games so you Game of Thrones fans will like it. When you hit 32 oz on your account you have to get a sobriety clear before proceeding with more drinks. Didn't get there so not sure if this is to make sure you pay off your account before proceeding also. It's a fun place and would go again but understand no one will have my favorite drink ready for me when I come...
Read moreSUPER sweet & attentive staff! They explained how things work there and were always running around making sure we had what we needed (clearing empty glasses and restocking). We loved that they are dog friendly indoors! Lots of comfortable places to sit and endless options of a variety of beers, wines & cider. It was convenient being able to pour your own drinks when you wanted and as much as you wanted! They had everything well labeled & organized. We were told this was an old bank and the vault is the room used for the wines (see video). Food was temporarily unavailable, but there were plenty of restaurants with takeout within walking distance. We had no trouble finding paid parking on the street, although we went in the afternoon on Friday so it may be more difficult later in the evening. This place is massive. The upstairs even has a game room & additional taps as well as large windows spending across the entire wall with beautiful city views. This is a great place with a chill vibe to try a lot of local beers if you are short on time visiting...
